the concert is under the spon sorship of the student concert lecture series and will be led by ragnvald bjarne who founded the choir in 1927 the singers who are making their first tour of the united sates in their 25 years as an organiza tion will be dressed in white sail or uniforms with blue trimmings all concerts given by the olavsguttene as the choir is call ed in its own country open and renovate taylor hall three industrial engineers were laying plans this week for an extensive time and effi ciency study of lamberton hall richard washer 52 john tepper 52 and jack diener 52 told the brown and white wednesday they thought they would be ready to start their project early in april lehigh university's alumni fund is well on its way to a suc cessful 1951-52 financital season steward j cort chairman of the committee on annual contribu tions announced that the fund has passed the two-thirds mark to ward its 150,000 objective with 101,400 given to date over twice the amount given by this time last y ear has been collected by energetic alumni twenty-eight thousand dollars provoking most comment at lamberton were the small side items of the meals soup bread fruit catsup doughnuts and toast the suggestions said could all be cooked better served in a more appealing manner or served in a fresher state changes in the organization of lamberton were the second most at grace hall tuesday af ternoon tom waring personally delivered his contributions to le high's spring music festival mr waring of the waring pennsylvanians has written four waltzes especially for the festival they will be publicly performed for the first time in this year's fes tival on april 18 and 19 with lyrics by jack dolph noted fiction writer the waring waltzes will be performed by the lehigh glee club with rudy schu bert at the piano the four num bers given continuity through their lyrics will be featured as a unit in the first portion of the show mr waring no newcomer to the music festival has been in terested in the event for many years his idealistic work deep earth was a high spot in the 1950 festival the waltzes written for this year's production however are of a lighter flavor and will be interwoven with such tunes as black magic and excerpts from porgy and bess the second section of the music festival features a streamlined version of the broadway hit bri gadoon ticket information will be found elsewhere in this issue faculty advisor rights composer tom waring and director william schempf straighten out an interpretation of the score waring composed for the 1952 festival see lamberton page 3 see alumni page 7 arcadia debates dates of vacation 10 men sought to assign hp dorm rooms affecting the students faculty evaluation procedure the changes were brought about as a result of deskes expressed by both students and faculty the first motion adopted by the group recommended the insertion of a line for the optional addition of the student's signature on the faculty appraisal form although a signature is not required it was felt desirable by the faculty mem bers participating in the evalua tion committee a second recommendation pro vides an opportunity for interest ed students who might be absent at the tirno of the evaluation to see arcadia page 6
