first quarter bucknell is not a powerful combination in fact in the opinion of the lehigh coaches it is the most poorly developed team that they have met with this year however in wally diehl the bisons have one of the best backs in the east it was this fleet-footed fullback that scored the four touch downs in saturday's game throughout the season it has been noticed that the lehigh team cotillion will officially op en house parties on friday night when the entire party entourage will be in attendance in the upper gym the cotjl lion is endeavoring to secure f henderson and his orchestra to furnish music for the dance and his coming will mark the greatest orchestra yet to appear here the orchestra is widely known as a recording combina tion and is now playing an en gagement at the twin oaks club in new york the dec orations are being cared for by murphy of bethlehem and promise to be original in nature the tax is to be nominally placed at six dollars a couple con on page richards bosey reiter hayes and ridsdale all the members were present secretary castor read the min utes of the previous meeting which were approved by the as sembly then old and new bus mess was taken up the reso lution pertaining to the use of the name lehigh by student organizations was passed and was referred to the arcadia which met last night the so ciety suggested that prof smith of the english depart ment should proceed shortly with the assignment of themes to the freshman class the authors of the two best themes will be awarded prizes of ten and five dollars respectively a rule was passed that meet ings of the society will in the future be held on the second and last friday of each month president miles gave a report on the extending of o d k chapters in lafayette college and rutgers university and an nounced that mr cotton chair man of the extension commit tee will visit lehigh in the near future for the purpose of clos ing the pending negotiations the committee on the college directory is an in valuable aid it will answer in numerable every-day questions the cost is just sufficient to cover the expense incurred in its publication and every stu dent should possess one last saturday the frosh gridmen took the severest drub bing of their young college ca reei's from the powerful mer cerburg academy eleven the final score was 69-0 with the brown and white frosh on the short end of the total the lehigh frosh contest is the letter game for the school boys and they always point to ward it and give everything that they have to bring about a victory this fact seemed to add inspiration to the unusual ly strong team that they have this year and they completely outclassed the brown and white first year men the first quarter ended with the score at 28-0 and when the teams trotted off the field for the intermission the scoreboard read 41-0 the scores in the first half were made by wilson cooper forester and titus during the second half berling er forester wilson and pet erson were responsible for ad ditional scoring and the game ended with the total at 69-0 the great superiority of the schoolboys lay in the fact that they continually played the ball ; they were always on hand to pounce on fumbles and inter cepted several attempted lateral passes by the brown and white frosh only once did they suc ceed in putting across a score through
