frat mourns death of dog brothers and pledges of alpha tau omega fraternity are mourn ing the death of their dog tau who died recently as a result of a spinal paralysis which caused se vere pain during his last days tau a 110 pound german shep herd was purchased for 1 from a humane society in new york city in 1944 he was one of the largest dogs on the campus tau was nicknamed bob tail after part of his tail was amputated in 1948 dr a g noble to speak in packer chapel sunday funeral services will be held for john jack patrick reilly 21 year-old lehigh senior at his home 559 carl ton aye at 9:30 tomorrow morning and at holy ghost church at 10 a.m reilly received fatal injur ies shortly after 7 p.m tues day in an automobile acci dent on hellertown rd be tween saucon creek and fire lane he died at st luke's hospital at 4:30 a.m wednes day dr earle b schlier de puty coroner attributed his death to a depressed fracture of the skull born in hellertown reilly was the son of mr and mrs l j reil ly he was to be married on jan 27 to mary jane burkhardt 474 bickel aye the psychology department is urgently in need of a student preferably a sophomore who is ineligible for the draft the stu dent must have had some practi cal experience in the field of electronics or radio the student will be an electronics technician for part-time work further in struction will be given for the job if it is necessary dr noble's interest in college work is attested by the fact that he has been a trustee of the church society for college work since 1939 he has also been chairman of the commission on college work of the diocese of western massachusetts since 1939 the speaker is the author of a number of magazine articles in his field and has been active in the national association of uni versity chaplains philosophy 81 organization of knowledge will once again be offered for the spring semester the course will be of great in terest to students in all three of the undergraduate colleges since it will aim to integrate the edu cation of students who are not planning to take regular philos ophy courses the integration will be achieved by examining the following types of questions questions that arise from situations encountered in c's lead registration list daily life and science the use of observation classification and definition in the search for facts useful * to the solution of the prob lem difficulties encountered in the social sciences when attempting to formulate predictive hypothe ses methods for obtaining valid knowledge of the past such as the course of evolution before thei coming of man the relations between ethics and the legal code philosophy 81 introduced two see 81 page 2 12:30 1:00 stek ¦ z 1:15 1:45 a -
