metallurgical society by l j st clair district manager of the eastern division of the car boloy company in his lecture mr st clair de scribed the metallurgical design manufacture and use of carboloy he explained that carboloy merely consisted of pulverized tungsten carbide dissolved in cobalt a former german patent acquired by general electric with which the carboloy company is affiliated he stated that this compound which is believed to produce the hardest cutting surface ever developed is going to replace high speed steel as a cutting tool for iron and steel since one carboloy tool can out wear 20 steel ones he said that the saving in time and money has made the adoption of carboloy necesary to manufacturers the demonstration showed how carboloy tools were cut sharpened and brazed this part of the lec ture was originally designed to in struct customers of the company in the proper use of carboloy as such it was one of the first times that the demonstration had been given before six of their fraternity brothers allegedly phi kappa psi came to their rescue and paid the bail which was set at 12.50 a piece franc burnett president of arcadia did not press charges the names of the lafayette college cal led bethlehem police when they learned of the trouble and asked them to head off another party of their students who were on the way over here lehigh students were on hand at the police station after the fun started and craned their necks to see the victims after the culprits were released there was some dis cussion as to who should have the goal posts which were lying in a nail in the police station lafayette claimed they had paid for them but the police ruled the posts would have to stay at least for a few days here follows the peace agree ment signed nov 2 at council ana we the arcadia of lehigh uni versity do all in our power to pre vent any action on the part of members of our student bodies which may be taken as intending to lower the other school in
