jserved and 1.00 each for un served seats bulletin raiding the south campus of moravian college for the second night in a raw 26 lehigh students were arrested t<y bethlehem police early this morning amid exploding cherry bombs and water bags the students were picked up by police and charged with disorderly conduct as of this morning 13 had posted a total o 309 bail and the rest were expected to post bail to day hearings before alderman warg are set for sometime this afternoon fire equipment from central headquarters was summoned at 12:25 a m but hoses were not used on the rioters steel artistry students work to be exhibited new techniques in contempo ry expression will be shown by wq lehigh valley and four new rork sculptors in the exhibit sculptures in steel which open it 2 p m sunday in the alumni memorial building galleries student paintings architectural lans and models done by lehigh len during 1962-63 will also be hown in the exhibit which is ponsored by the university's de artment of fine arts the student paintings will be udged for annual awards includ ng the yeyo fabiani award for he best modern painting the mc 31ain award for the most progress nade during the year and the me olain award for the best general tainting exhibiting steel sculpture are jeorge rickey tom hardy leon rd delonga and nathan hale of tew york joseph cantieni of iethlehem and the 1963 semester the brown and white will resume publication in september all announcements and copy for the initial issue should be turned in at the news paper's editorial offices in the university center during the week of sept 9 gunshots rout raiders frosh visit moravian betehlehem police opened fire briefly to disperse a group of le high students who participated in an unauthorized visit to moravian college women's campus early yesterday morning following alleged phone calls from male students at moravian over 100 freshmen left the campus sometime shortly after 12:30 a m and made their way across the new street bridge in small groups towards the moravian campus conflicting reports indicate that a raid had not been specifically planned and that there was no con certed effort by the students to carry out any assault upon the dorms moravian officials how ever summoned police shortly after midnight and patrols re mained around the area until dawn at 2:00 a m as a train passed along a nearby track a firecrack er exploded and a number of stu dents began running through a courtyard in the rear of one of the dormitories police in an effort to rout the students and get them out of the area fired several shots over the students heads captain george wiley when contacted yesterday by the brown and white said that he wasn't aware of shots having been fired but numerous witnesses verified the fact wiley also said that he had made an effort to avoid in volving lehigh students in arrests because he realized that it would be detrimental to their academic status at the university police reported that a number of students were taken into custody but none were booked j d leith dean of students and dr charles a seidle vice president of admin istration were called by police lehigh under fire — a frightened lehigh student dives head-first into the shrubbery be hind moravian's west hall as a bethlehem policeman fires over his head dr davies to deliver baccalaureate sermon the rev dr elam davies will deliver the sermon at the univer sity's baccalaureate service on sunday afternoon june 9 at 2:30 p.m in grace hall pastor of the first presbyterian church in bethlehem from 1952 to 1961 dr davies was installed as pastor of the 90-year-old fourth presbyterian church chicago 111 in september 1961 the bethlehem pastorate was his first in the united states a native of glamorganshire wales dr davies graduated with honors from the university of wales and the university of cambridge in england where he earned his master's degree he also is a graduate of the theological college in bala wales he was ordained to the ministry in 1944 and served two pastorates in great britain the first being stow park presbyterian church newport monmouthshire and the second the english
