likins met with residents of palmer house in order to address their concerns re garding several areas of his pro posed strategic plan on tuesday likins aware that there are various rumors concerning his plan that are circulating throughout campus wanted to straighten out the facts from fiction he made this clear immedi ately as he began the dis cussion what are you hearing on the rumor network likins asked the most talked about issue con cerned the college of engineering and applied science likins proposes in his plan to change the name of the engineering college to the school of engineering while maintaining the college name for the arts and sci ence school itiis idea outraged some faculty staff and students of the engineering school many felt as though likins was trying to downgrade the college or worse yet abolish it many people believe that rewording the name of the school is an impor tant decision thor norgaard 97 an engineering major said changing the word college
