educators the theme of his address was educa tion and he stressed the need for good teachers in the complex world in which we are now living russia fears u.s production he said the fear-ridden power dominated people of soviet rus sia fear american productive might more than anything else and as long as america continues to turn out high calibre scientific and technical men soviet russia will never have the chance to start world conflict he predicted that russia under the iron-clad hand of the soviet government will eventually split cites role of education in pursuit of this comparison he said that american universities should include the highly contro versial subject of religious educa tion as a part of the regular cur riculum in conclusion he paid tribute to professor larkin as the can only suggest that the nsa looks like a good bet aside from its tendency to draw lehigh into the orbit of national colleges that is as opposed to the isolated colleges that the average person never hears of the nsa will bestow many immediate ad vantages upon our student body the information service that the nsa would give arcadia should undoubtedly strengthen our stu dent government because it would supply arcadia members with facts and figures on every aspect of college life in america finances for dues and other ex penses would come out of the stu dent activity fund it has been estimated that the nsa will in directly cost each student twenty five cents per year objection to the nsa has been expressed because of its affiliation with the communist lus however the nsa broke relations with that organization last march when czechoslovakian students were abused by the new regime in that country the only thing that would indicate that the nsa might re affiliate itself with the lus has been a proposal by a pennsylvania sub-regional group in the same section as lehigh but that of course is a good reason why lehigh should join the nsa and particularly this sub region to add the weight of 3000 men to support or oppose the frac t i o n which advocated affiliation since lehigh can drop out of the nsa anytime it chooses there would be no danger in our enter ing now and fighting those can only suggest that the nsa looks like a good bet aside from its tendency to draw lehigh into the orbit of national colleges that is as opposed to the isolated colleges that the average person never hears of the nsa will bestow many immediate ad vantages upon our student body the information service that the nsa would give arcadia should undoubtedly strengthen our stu dent government because it would supply arcadia members with facts and figures on every aspect of college life in america finances for dues and other ex penses would come out of the stu dent activity fund it has been estimated that the nsa will in directly cost each student twenty five cents per year objection to the nsa has been expressed because of its affiliation with the communist lus however the nsa broke relations with that organization last march when czechoslovakian students were abused by the new regime in that country the only thing that would indicate that the nsa might re affiliate itself with the lus has been a proposal by a pennsylvania sub-regional group in the same section as lehigh but that of course is a good reason why lehigh should join the nsa and particularly this sub region to add the weight of 3000 men to support or oppose the frac t i o n which advocated affiliation since lehigh can drop out of the nsa anytime it chooses there would be no danger in our enter ing now and fighting those objective the find ing of a name or epithet which would be used to cover the student body and its representative athletic teams more completely a new name to be used in proference or in addition to
