check on her belongings when she entered through the front door she didn't notice any thing missing but when jacobs went to the kitchen to answer the phone the sound of crunching glass beneath her feet made her hesitate the kitchen window had been smashed and raised and jacobs knew she been robbed according to don sabo bethlehem crime prevention offi cer approximately eight to 12 student homes were robbed on summit street e fifth street montclair avenue and webster street items most stolen varied from vcrs and televisions to stereos sabo said most of the houses were not entered by force many of the homes were either left unlocked or a window was unlocked sabo said jacobs said she and her house mates checked all the doors and windows but did not take any valuables home i brought some stuff home like my jewelry and i was going to bring home my stereo but i guess i was pretty stu pid jacobs said jacob's home lost two vcrs two televisions two cd boom boxes a discman a walkman and a throughout winter break we are pleased with the reg istration program sabo said out of the 14 houses that had registered only one was robbed we don't know if that proves any thing but it must mean some thing but cara hourican 97 and chris messina 97 are skeptical about how police registration could have saved their 451 webster st home from getting robbed and looted on new years eve jacobs called messina to tell her that her house may have been robbed too because the house had every light on when dana told me i really didn't think they could have stolen much because we all had dead bolts on our door messina said but when i came home i was in shock they destroyed my room messina thinks the suspects hit a crow bar against the door and spliced it down the middle when there was a
