and white aubrey to address faculty conference randy brooks ol lvi no.kag touch with mr litzenberger in the alumni building from what was revealed in the recent thaw the campus roads seem to be in good condition the worst road is eighth avenue a city street not under university care the good condition of the roads is probably due to excellent drain age and the fact that many students did not use their cars during the worst part of the winter sayre park road which has been closed since christmas vacation is ex pected to be opened in the near future no definite plans mr litzenberger has formulated no definite plans for an extensive spring program as yet he has stated however that the many activities planned for the future will slow down the annual spring cleaning of the campus the grounds crew responsiblflfer this job will be diverted to set up seats at lectures erect and tear down bleachers for sports events and perform various other activities which require considerable time these incidental jobs prevent the campus from being cleaned as rap idly as mr litzenberger and the rest of us would like there will be little need for re pairs to the campus this spring andrew w litzenberger super intendent of buildings and grounds announced in spite of the severity of the past two months the actual damage to lehigh has been slight mr litzenberger cautions how ever that some damage not yet ap parent may show up when the snow has finally cleared the greatest single amount of damage was that done to the trees during the devastating ice storm of january 2 about 650 trees were injured to such an extent that they will require care to some degree while for many of these trees pruning will be sufficient there are others which will require exten sive surgery and the removal of limbs completion date set a crew of six men is working on the tree regeneration project it is expected that the job will be completed in about a month the wood which is being collected is
