are secure some suggestions to reduce the chance of burglary include using timers throughout the house and double checking the locks on doors and windows somewhere along the line there is a breach m security a door or window that is accidental ly unlocked sabo said i recommend people take the city of bethlehem has been conducting a watch program for the past few years for students who live off-campus however only a small number students are taking advantage of it according to don sabo crime prevention officer for bethlehem the program is designed to watch student homes while stu dents are away on break community police m cooperation with lehigh police regularly check on the homes that have holiday season sabo said this past season only 14 hous es and apartments were registered for the program which is less than half the number of partici pants from last year i'm very upset with the turnout sabo said you should take the very minimum precau tions everything you do reduces the chances and we're here to help this past semester the brown and white included a registration form m one of its issues only two of the forms from the paper were filled out and returned to the bethlehem police been registered by the students according to sabo university students who live off-campus are considered easier targets than non-student residents to take part m the program students must register their house or apartment with the campus police or with one of the bethlehem police substations the police require the name and phone number of the landlord as well as an address and
