your faculty dr erdoss makes his contribution dr bela e erdoss was born in jugoslavia in 1903 in 1927 he graduated from the royal joseph university of engineering at buda pest hungary and in 1933 re ceived a degree there in mechanical engineering at the same time he gained qualification as an archi tectural builder preceding his de gree he had done graduate work for two years during the years of 1933 to 1939 he worked in indus try in jugoslavia hungary and london he came to america in february of that year to design build and run three factories the latest and largest of which is sit uated in phillipsburg n j from there he came to easton in 1941 and in the fall of the follow ing year came to lehigh in con junction with the billesbi fellow ship in m.e during those early years at lehigh he spent half his time in graduate study and the other half in research before coming to lehigh dr erdoss worked predominantly with foreign industry and found a great handicap in the workings of the english language a factor which he has overcome amazingly well in his comparatively short stay here in the winter of 1942 the navy came to lehigh and dr erdoss then worked with the department on a restricted research project the new air-flow laboratory was built at that time in order to ful fill the navy commitments the job came to a successful conclu sion in 1943 in the fall of 43 he received his master's degree as well as mem bership into pi tau sigma the phi beta kappa of mechanical en gineers since that time to top off these achievements dr erdoss received membership into the sigma xi school and catasauqua high school richard macadams chairman for the contest has announced that the contest will take place in packard auditorium at 2:15 fol lowing the journalistic conference
