rather than directing residential repairs walter keiper will be coordinating the annual bethlehem musikfest held in august as its associate director keiper completed his span as associate direc tor of residential services and residence haljs at lehigh friday and assumed his new position on monday ozzie breiner formerly assistant dean of residence life will fill keiper's vacancy in april the position of associate director is newly cre ated in the bethlehem musikfest association in volving assisting with the preparation and mainte nance of the bma budget monitoring inventory and warehouse activities and acting as a finance committee liaison the position includes other responsibilities linked to funding and the coordi nation of musikfest's computer information sys tems tom kwiatek the executive director of bma said with the increasing complexities of operat ing the largest event of its kind in the country musikfest has outgrown the capabilities of its hu man resources keiper is extremely excited about his new posi tion i'm thrilled to be part of such a wonderful community and look forward to working with the many dedicated musikfest volunteers staff and spon sors the bma board needed an individual with knowledge of non-profit financial structures to assist in the management essential forthe festival's growth and well being keiper became aware ofthe new position their investigation the police describe the suspect as a 6 foot-1-inch white male in his 20s weighing by marc j goldstein news editor a male lehigh student was cut by a knife while attempting to evade a robber on the west side of packard laboratory at about 1:30 a.m wednesday , according to lehigh police . this is the sixth incident of violence and harassment against lehigh students in the past six months police said that the student was walking alone west of packard laboratory when the student saw a man approaching as they approached each other the man reportedly about 170 pounds the morning of the inci dent the suspect was reportedly wearing blue jeans and a dark-blue hooded sweatshirt . as was the case with the past two incidents smeaton s office sent a bulletin over the network server and a letter was sent to each student on thursday the primary concern is for the safety of our students the idea is to get accurate information out as quickly as possible to the community smeaton said as a result of recent attacks , the university administration created an escort service staffed by lehigh security personnel to pro vide transportation in addition to the tracs van service the escort service provided from 7 p.m through 4 a.m can be accessed through the lehigh police non-emergency number 758 4202 according to smeaton this incident dif fered from others because the apparent mo tive
