said that one juvenile was arrested on oct 13 for physically assaulting two students spraying mace on a third and resisting arrest on memorial drive casciano said the second macing incident which occurred on friday oct 26 is under investigation casciano added in response to the recent problems involving vandalism theft and assaults lehigh police has increased the number of police on patrol in certain areas we're putting more men out and concentrating on trying to take care of this problem casciano said he explained the targetted areas of affairs john smeaton agreed if frat ernity members do the job they're supposed to do at the door by checking ids that will remove the motivation smeaton said if you see any suspi cious or unusual characters don't respond yourself call the police erickson said we're not trying to create a barrier between lehigh and the community if you have friends that live in the community and you invite them to campus stay with them smeaton concluded with have been warned against trespassing on lehigh property within the past three weeks and more than 12 have been arrested lehigh police sgt tony casciano said most of the arrests have been juv eniles warned prior for trespassing casciano continued three arrests were for theft at the brodhead house involving purses being taken from food services personnel two students have been assaulted with mace and another three have been beaten by at least two juveniles according to police reports police the mood was somber at the take back the night rally in bethlehem on halloween until reverand jo claire rally was held in response to five rapes that have been committed in bethlehem in the past six months bethlehem police commissioner thomas murphy said the police department is sensitive to the detrimental effects of rape on victims and potential victims he assured the crowd that the department is doing everthing in its power to bring the criminals to justice dixie white of bethlehem one of
