global awareness because if we poison the earth in one place then it is poisoned everywhere he noted a problem standing in the way of a global solution is that there are 150 nations who take pride in their pride and say to hell with the rest of my neighbors asimov offered a solution to make the world globalize he said that amer ica could give advice to the rest of the world from its own history in this is your captain speak ing i'd like to welcome you aboard the control room of the erie west announced jackie massa of the lacocca institute as she opened the jason project tuesday the erie west barge is home base for an underwater exploration project named jason located on lake ontario lowered from the barge the camera-equipped robot jason probes two u.s naval ships that sank in the war of 1812 the hamilton and the scourge pictures of human bones cannonballs axes and other antiquated armaments aboard the wreckage are transmitted live via satellite to grace hall where project coordinator mechanical engineering department was not rated up to par by the accreditation board for engineering and technology abet after a visit to lehigh last semester the board which has been maintaining high standards in the engineering field since 1936 reported that lehigh did not meet the requirement of mandating 16 credit hours of design orient ed courses for the major in addition the board said the laboritory space was over crowded the curriculum was more conceptual than practi cal and were concerned with the aging faculty professor fazil erdogan said the reason why the board disagrees with the depart ment is that the board wants us to offer a minimum number of courses specifical ly in design whereas we pref er to add design aspects to other couses the board complimented the department on the posi tive attitude and high morale of the faculty the quality of the students and the quality of the courses offered erdogan added nation wide there is a problem in engineering schools with aging faculty we are aware of this and are taking steps to hire new and younger faculty to replace the retirees lehigh received a grant from the national science foundation to set up a new 1,200 foot lab in packard lab oratory to be completed by next fall the department has a stand ing committee on curriculum that is constantly adjusting the courses to fit industry standards erdogan said as the field of
