it has long been a source of dis cussion among student and faculty to use the chapel more often and now under the canterbury club's instigation president williams has sanctioned the use of the mem orial chapel for seasonal services this is the first of the planned programs the next will be the annual christmas service on dec 12 the canterbury clubs are non sectarian religious clubs formed at several universities the lehigh chapter is composed of 20 episco pal students student clubs offer thanksgiving rites engineers are favored for first time since 1936 over marquis who has won only 3 this season by wayne riddle tomorrow lehigh's determined football team will face la fayette for the 76th time and will seek its 28th win in the na tion's oldest series both teams are primed for this their most important game for the first time since 1936 the engineers will be favored to win over their great rivals lehigh is enjoying its best season rally begins 7:15 tonight e kenneth smiley director of admissions will be the master of ceremonies at the lafayette rally tonight at 7:15 in grace hall an nounced j harry brindle m e 45 chairman of the arcadia rally committee coach george hoban and ber nard w deehan bus 43 captain of the football team will be in troduced by mr smiley as the main speakers of the evening the walter okeson trophy to be given to the class sponsoring the best football rally will be presented to the president of that class by dr claude g beardslee head of the department of moral and religious philosophy the university band and the cheerleaders will be on hand to lead the students in songs and cheers the seven best freshman skits will be given instead of the usual 40 or 50 these seven skits were chosen last night frosh to wear pajamas immediately following the rally the freshmen will light their an nual bonfire after the bonfire the traditional pa jama parade through the town will start the route of the parade will be across the new street bridge to broad street and down past the boyd theatre to main the group will then swing past the hotel bethlehem and halt at moravian seminary where the lehigh men will serenade the wo men a large turnout is expected for this big annual affair the frosh are particularly interested in the height of the bonfire since the possible cancellation of freshman regulations is involved the finalists after last night's competition are delta upsilon delta tau delta alpha tau ome ga sigma phi epsilon sigma phi richards i and richards iv-a easton authorities claim vandalisms at lafayette lafayette college is taking no chances on the extra-curricular activities and pre-game enthusi asm of the visiting lehigh stu dents this weekend says an article in an easton paper the authorities claim several vandalisms have already been committed on the campus such as chalking and daubing college buildings with to hell with la fayette slogans this week the presidents of the student councils of both colleges signed a non aggression pact to curtail further damage lafayette has taken steps to protect some of the statues by wrapping them in canvas in six years while the marquis are having one of their worst in recent times to date the maroon has won but three and lost five however all records and probabilities can be thrown to the winds when lehigh plays lafay ette five seniors will be playing their last game for the engineers to morrow these are captain bernie deehan harry clarke tom buck ed cavanaugh and bob bird dee han and clarke have been team mainstays all season while buck bird and cavanaugh have seen ac tion as placements lafayette — the underdog lafayette the underdog for a change is doing all in its power to prepare for the game last week they sacrificed a game to the lake hurst naval team by playing only their third and fourth stringers thus taking no chances on injuries hampering their chances against lehigh during this week the mar quis have forsaken scrimmage and are holding secret practices sup posedly planning new plays to be used tomorrow lafayette will have seven men playing their final game captain chuck nagle and bill mcknight both backs are the most impor tant of these while the others are sam alexander quarterback and john svenson joe braido bill kresge and ramsey maddock on the line these men have beaten lehigh twice and will be out to finish their college careers with out a loss to the brown and white after their narrow escape with dickinson lehigh should not suf fer from overconfidence coach hoban has been putting the squad through offensive drills this week and should have the engineers at tack functioning smoothly tomor row to have same line-up the starting lineup for lehigh will probably be the same one which has started most of the games with brownlee and hal shoener as ends clarke and jones at tackle kurtz and meserve as guards and shafer at center be hind the line will be deehan at quarterback herb shoener and moravec at the halves and szy makowski at fullback the probable leopard team to face the engineers will have ser gy and svenson at the ends with braido and dodd as tackles mad dock and kresge at join navy reserve a full recruiting board from the office of naval officer procure ment will be on the campus mon day tuesday and wednesday nov 23 24 and 25 to interview exam ine and swear in students desir ing to enter the v-l and v-7 pro grams of the navy the examinations will be held beginning 8 a m each morning these will take place in the audi torium on the second floor of drown hall and in the examination room at the west end of the floor students wishing appointments if they have not already done so should leave their name at dean congdon's office students will be given definite apointments on one of these three days they will present their ap pointment cards to the recruiting officer when they report other wise they will not be interviewed unless it happens by accident that the recruiting officer is free enlistment papers in anticipation of the interview and examination next week each student seriously intending to en list in the navy should present at the time of the interview the pa pers listed below if all these pa pers are completed and can be presented at the time of a stu dent's appointment next week and if he satisfactorily passes the phy sical examination sing in the choir for several years dr salmon has conducted sunday radio ser vices from his pulpit in philadel phia the service will be non-de nominational as are all university services brown & white lehigh university very reliable advices coining to my attention seem to indicate that this may be in fact the last opportunity for lehigh students to voluntarily enlist in the naval reserve program all students should be warned and advised to take immediate steps for enlist ing in reserve programs whether of the navy the marines the army air corps or the enlisted reserve corps of the army unless
