taken away he has requested mr litzenberger to make a survey of the area in front of grace hall and to choose the most favorable spot for the walk original plan altered dudley's report suggested a walk originating at the steps which lie directly across taylor street from grace hall the walk would run parallel to the east end of wil liams hall and would terminate at the street which passes in front of the coxe mining laboratory not at the williams hall parking space as originally announced litzenberger believes that such a walk would be so steep that strong supports would be needed at the base since these supports would be detrimenital to traffic along that street another arrange ment is being considered the walk will probably originate at the spot proposed by dudley but instead of running towards williams hall it will run eastward parallel in the front of grace hall the path will continue in this direction until the elevation has decreased and the distance to the road has increased this walk will have a more gradual slope and the steps will end several feet from the road thereby eliminating the necessity for large supports at the roadside dudley's work praised williams
