murder of freshman jeanne clery have asked the lehigh administration to provide information that may help in his defense according to assistant public defender george blasco he and lorenzo crowe henry's other defense attorney petitioned the university tuesday for the names of clery's stoughton house third floor hallmates and members of phi sigma kappa fraternity where she spent much of the night before her death the attorneys are also requesting to see her personal effects and reproductions of any and all records the university is keeping on clery 19 a hearing on the request for in formation has been set for april 30 by judge michael franciosa i'm sure that the administration will cooperate blasco said it's to what extent that's the question but vice president for student affairs marsha duncan was not so positive i don't know where they'rtfgetting their information but they're not getting it fronuts uncan said the attorneys are looking for no one in particular blasco said but want to make sure everyone is still on campus if we do wish to speak to anyone we'd like them to be available he said adding that they do not want to interfere with final exam period which begins may 7 henry 20 has been charged with criminal homicide rape involuntary deviate sexual intercourse robbery and burglary in the april 5 incident henry was arrested at his off-campus apartment april 7 he is being held without bail in northampton county prison in easton a bail hearing scheduled for wednesday has been postponed for 30 days blasco said as has a preliminary hearing scheduled for yesterday the latter was postponed by judge richard grifo after blasco and crowe requested a mental-health report on see henry page 5 memorial service planned for clery next wednesday there will be a basic memorial service for jeanne clery on wed nesday afternoon at 4:30 in packer chapel all students faculty and administrators are welcome to pay their respects to the lehigh freshman who was played frank burns on the television series mash told approximately 1,200 people how i became a 20-year overnight success monday night in grace hall the talk titled on major frank burns mash and more was a special event for greek week sponsored by the visiting lectures committee linville dressed in a lehigh sweatshirt given to him during vlc chairman david polakoff's in troduction strolled about grace's floor and delighted the crowd with his patented frank burns laugh throughout the evening if i don't look quite the same you have to remember that the first of those mash's we did 14 years ago he began linville explained that he became obsessed with becoming an astronaut while growing up in california he decided he would fly for nasa even though he joked nasa did not yet exist i was going to fly as fast and as high as i could go to get as close to those damn stars as 1 could get everything was going fine for linville until he got to high school and ran into puberty he explained that in order to get girls he became a jock after quitting the football team he was asked to par ticipate in the school's christmas pageant as a result of the play's hilarity the drama dep tartment received funding it turned out the right way linville said a lot of that happened in my life â– at this point the actor-to-be was still con centrating on flying he quit the drama department and began taking ei^neertng"coursesrh[ls'3reain was shattered however when he flunked a jet physical one of the requirements for entry into the air force academy everything i had wanted to da everything i had worked to do had come to an end he said linville then described how on a whim he sent a letter to the royal academy of dramatic arts in london he was asked to audition for one of the openings the academy had for three colonials upon discovering that 300 people were trying out for the three spots he thought he had the chances of a snowball in hell to linville's great surprise however he not only got one of the positions but received a scholarship as well he explained that the prestigious academy had see linville page 4 mw photo mart muton actor larry llnvllle alias major frank bums of mash spoke monday night to a crowd of about 1200 in lower grace hall mw photo by sue knippenberq was schantz 86 and dave eaton 86 of alpha tau omega fraternity left and paul hughes 89 and howard goldstein 86 of pi kappa alpha fraternity compete in the pie eating contest which turned into a pie throwing free-tor-all crow receives citation for setting couch afire lehigh university bycaraturkowsky alpha chi rho fraternity was served a citation sunday night charging it with violating limitations on burning according to campus police according to officer deare freeman a sofa fully engulfed in flames was seen burning on the bank on the north side of the crow house while a party was in progress the police reported that when freeman arrived on the scene two unknown males were holding a second sofa and were in the process of hoisting it onto the fire when police arrived the two dropped the sofa and ran into the house freeman said she then spoke to crow president joseph powell 87 in the squad car and advised him that the house would be cited for a bethlehem city ordinance burning code violation according to freeman brothers from the house then put the fire out on their own and there appeared to be no need to notify the bethlehem fire department powell said the sofa was started on fire by a firecracker and we immediately threw it over the showporch he said it was difficult to decide what to do since it all happened so quickly we tried to handle the situation in the most practical way
