function of sub-freshman day gave suggestions for its ad vantageous use and enumerated the activities of the day at 9 a m registration was con ducted in the alumni memorial building under the supervision of john w maxwell manager of the the campus super-salesman fletcher george christy hanks bus 41 has been secured by ar cadia to serve as auctioneer at its annual sale of lost and found ar ticles wednesday may 14 at 4:15 p m in drown hall hanks has sold and successfully almost everything from soup to nuts on the lehigh campus and is known by sight to more students than possibly any in london in which johnson compiled part of his dictionary the attic was burned away by a barrel of oil blown on to it from a neighboring printing works which was bombed at present a 30,000 grant from the rockefeller foundation is be ing used to microfilm manuscripts which are in danger of being de stroyed by german air attacks in england scotland and wales six cameras are constantly at work faculty room in the alumni memorial building three metal lurgical courses were dropped and two others were changed from two to three hour courses elective projects in metallurgy met 176 and met 177 have been increased from two to three hour courses and metallurgical labora tory met 33 introduction to metallurgy met 51 and prob lems in general metallurgy met 61 have been dropped as metal lurgical courses by the university introduction to metallurgy met 7 and met 8 have replaced the dropped courses the new courses will be two hours each the net effect of the change will be a re duction in the curriculum from 18 to 17 hours the extra hour will be transferred to the second sem ester of the senior year when it will be used as an increase in the elective professional subjects from five to six
