nounced e robins morgan di rector of placement recently a circular was sent to seniors by the placement bureau to determine how many would attend a lecture by mr lambert the circular brought an enthusiastic response from the seniors and a series of talks was scheduled by mr morgan all students are invited to at tend smith delivers talk in capital football captain bill hauserman and bill hauserman senior grin for the senior rally held friday night in taylor gym mr hauserman rave a brief talk contrasting experiences in athletics with experiences o come in business the one with the fraternity men only the council also decided that fraternities will have homecoming decorations for the lafayette game as in past years the displays will be judged by a committee of three faculty take place between 11 a m and 1 p m and after 7:30 p m each house is limited to an expenditure of fifteen dollars for decorations members of the council favored supporting a proposal that living groups be allowed to purchase tickets for football games in order of their scholastic rating as deter mined in the previous semester this proposition will be brought up monday before a joint meeting of all living groups with arcadia the second problem in the fresh man math contest being sponsored by the newtonian society has been announced by the contest commit tee and is as follows xx7xx xxx i shakespeare professor smith spoke on the effects of the publication of the folio on both english and world literature interspersing an account of the difficulties confronted by the the publishers in their attempt to give to the world an authentic ver sion of england's greatest play wright one copy was supplied to the bodleian library at oxford university by comparing the wear and tear of each page the bodleian author ities have determined which plays were most popular with oxford students in the 17th century le high students seem to be in agree ment on the most popular play they as did those early english scholars have consistently chosen romeo and juliet as the best of the shakespearean plays smith continued by giving an ac count of the history of the folio apparently it has always been an expensive book originally selling for approximately 35 in present american money since that time the folio has sold for sums rang ing from 4500 to 75,000 the high est recorded catalouge price whole and added it is the hope of the bachelor staff to please everyone the december issue will be somewhat enlarged according to klein it will contain larger and more numerous cartoons and more lehigh football from the time when he first came here in 1910 until the present dya he told of lehigh teams during his first years that were successful because of subsi dization he told of the inaugura tion of the present purist policy under president charles russ richards and the subsequent fall of lehigh football fortune he painted a picture of at least five tombstones in taylor stadium be longing to lehigh coaches who metaphorically died in a horrible death because they could not pro duce with the mediocre material lehigh was able to muster according to bosey lehigh once employed a very high-priced coach with an enviable reputation in a vain effort to produce a winning team from an honest school but he failed and his scalp was remov ed even more rapidly than the others fair success the pep rally specialist stated that harmeson has had fair success at lehigh even with the scanty ma terial available harmey has won from lafayette three times and perm state however bosey dinner in the alpha tau omega house twenty dads were enter tained at a banquet in the delta tau delta house ken overlin for mer middleweight boxing cham pion and his fiance sybil ross featured singer at leon and eddie's night club in new york city were guests for dinner at tau delta phi where 10 dads were present the week-end officially opened with the senior class smoker and pep rally friday evening in taylor gym but a comparatively small number of fathers were present the explanation was that many could not arrive until the next day because of business reasons and long distances to
