brown and white vol 77 - no 19 rimmmmnnmmi bethlehem pa - friday november 19 1965 8660331 bonfire parade tonight lehigh's football team will wind up its year tomorrow in taylor stadium by taking on arch-rival lafayette college for the 101st time in a game that will make the season a success for the win ner the weekend will be kicked off at 7:15 tonight in grace hall with a pep rally bonfire and a parade to the women's dormitories of moravian college for most fraternities this is the weekend on which alumni return to take part in activities tbe freshman have been work ing through the early part of this week to build a bonfire on upper taylor field to be ignited tonight according to tradition if lehigh is to win the game the height of the flames must match the num erals of the freshman class 69 feet freshman residence hall sec tions have been guarding the bonfire against possible lafayette forays since 4 p.m wednesday in two-hour-shifts around the clock master of ceremonies at to night's pep rally will be john s steckbeck assistant professor of physical education and " grand father of the freshman class dr w deming lewis president of the university will make opening re marks at the rally freshmen will wear pajamas and dinks to the pep rally pi lams placed on social probation violation could result in dissolution bv bill bonne ll pi lambda phi has been placed on social probation until at least march 15 and subjected io other disciplinary actions it was an nounced tuesday at a regular ifc meeting rumors concerning the present and future status of the fraternity flashed across the campus and into town immediately following the meeting the rapid oral communications stemmed from a report by ifc ju diciary committee chairman pete burns 66 and from off-the record remarks about recommen dations to be made bv his com mittee concerning an alleged incident late in may at the former pi lam residence at 141 e market st as the result of damage to the structure vacated this summer bv the chapter and of other conditions within the chapter it was an nounced that the following recom mendations presented by the com mittee or by the fraternity have been approved by preston parr dean of student life — a three-man alumni council with david green chapter corpor ation president as chairman was established the council has been empowered to appoint or remove as circumstances dictate any member of the chapter's executive committee in addition the council has responsibility to remove from house membership any individual whose conduct it deems to warrant such action -- the chapter's executive com mittee l now responsible to the alumni council and the council will have veto power over their actions the brown and white has learned from normally reliable b a w photo by ed yewdall pile it higher higher -
