lehigh bookstore is against my better judgement miss margaret branneberger mana ger of the moravian bookshop told the brown and white wednesday commenting on arcadia's pro posal to have lehigh faculty members submit textbook lists to the moravian bookshop this fall miss branneberger said she is against a student boycott of any bookstore without full investiga tion of other possibilities she said she believes it is bad ethics for one bookstore to hurt another especially since she said she is very friendly with many lehigh personnel commenting on the feasibility of arcadia's proposal miss branneberger said she didn't believe sufficient space exists in the moravian bookshop to accommodate the entire textbook load from lehigh " a committee has been formed to investigate the enlargement of the bookshop however this will not produce results by the fall she said miss branneberger said that if necessary she will order books from lists submitted by lehigh faculty members she added chicken man to visit happening tomorrow according to reliable sources parnassus has succeeded ln getting " chicken man fearless white-winged warrior for the happening in grace hall tomorrow night jack bannon mcclintic-marshall president said the white-winged warrior should fly in shortly after 8 p.m other featured attractions will be two plays by prof szwed of the social relations department and the sounds of the ringwraiths a band specializing in electronic music steven globus parnassus secretary emphasized that in order for the happening to be a success total involvement on the part of the audience will be necessary he noted that each person present will be an actor utilizing the props made available and the effect of the atmosphere created the " happening entitled " middle earth will be the first such presentation at lehigh grace hall will be turned into a hall of " total sensory intermedia eruption playing on all five of the human senses a special room lined with tin foil will be set up at one side of the hall into this a strobe light a variable frequency flashing light will be focused the effects created raise havoc with the human sense of depth perception • in another part of the hall wierd patterns created by revolving polaroid disks will be projected the sense of sound will be stimulated by the sounds of the " ringwraiths and tape recorded sound effects the entire university center and the library heavy equipment moved in tuesday to demolish the old steps and widen an area for the new ones solons table proposal for new rushing plan by marty marasco the rushing committee of arcadia presented a new rushing proposal at wednesday night's meeting the proposal was tabled after discussion of arcadia's role in passing such a plan the major changes in the new proposal would lie to extend permitted communications be tween upperclassmen and rreshmen during the ' first semester anywhere on campus except iu residence halls and in the fraternity houses the proposal would also extend the numlier ol turtles freshmen are permitted to attend inupper ctass living quarters to include saturday evening of the first home football game and saturday see moravian
