ethyl-acrylate used in the pro duction of plastics is a very smelly chemical even small amounts can make things uncomfortable the chemical he said is not danger ous it causes irritation to the nasal converted to university use the renovations to be carried out can be split into two broad categories according to kane first he said it is necessary to bring the building up to code heating vent illation electricity etc must be meet certain standards given that stu dents will be located on multiple floors secondly the specific needs of each of the laboratories must be considered and this is what we are planning now kane said although renovations of the newly acquired brith sholom community cen ter being called packard lab west are expected to begin in april no final agree ment has been reached on what specific functions will be housed in the building or where they will be situated according to george kane chairman of the depart ment of industrial engineering and chairman of the packard lab space committee according to patricia chase director of physical planning general renova tions will begin with the first and second floors work is expected to be completed by early august theft the five areas of activity that are under consideration for installation in the building include those pertaining to robotics manufacturing systems engi neering the small business center the
