was proposed by two professors at monday's faculty meeting the proposal was presented by ralph lindgren chairman of the philosophy department and edwin kay associate professor of psychology in legislative activity the pres ent self-imposed restraints are not always practical e anthony james professor of eng lish and chairman of the appeals com mittee said that although the memo is unofficial and is not based on thorough study it may serve as a basis for future attention and asked that it be included in the minutes of the meeting robert barnes professor of philo sophy and chairman of forum xi reported to the faculty on the concerned students coalition this coalition is attempting to modify representation on the forum since students have little sense of this according to barnes the coalition said it welcomes faculty input on proposals for modifying faculty representation due to the lack of a quorum at mon day's meeting the proposal presented by lindgren and kay will be discussed at a faculty meeting on monday nov 3 at 4 10 p.m in uc 403 lindgren and kay suggested that a less than vigorous performance by the dean of students office also may have contributed to the decision kay cited a separate example of a conflict of interest within the juidicial process in which the students involved were personal friends of members of the discipline committee kay said that only faculty should investigate the present discipline pro cess because the disciplinary system is the responsibility of the faculty dean of students william quay pres ented the disciplinary committee's report at monday's meeting he outlined the types of violations with which the fra ternity was charged the verdict and asked for any questions from the assembled faculty quay explained the disciplinary pro cess as set forth in the university hand the discipline committee's report on the recent delta tail delta fraternity case the proposed committee would be charged with investigating the present university disciplinary system and eva luating its performance and proce dure according to lindgren the committee would also recommend possi ble changes in the system lindgren used the delta tau delta case as evidence of the past performance of the current diciplinary system he related to the faculty accounts as told to him by eyewitnesses of the wet t-shirt contest lindgren said eyewitnesses told him of the lifting of the contestants shirts by delts brothers the wild behavior of the crowd and the exposure of the contest ants breasts he said this behavior could have been
