disciplinary de merits for disregard of house party regulations involving couples in sleep-study rooms a senior chemist and a senior mechanical engineer each received one demerit for disregard of houseparty regulations which re serve certain areas in student hous ing exclusively for women guests a junior businessman was assessed one disciplinary demerit for off-campus conduct unbecom ing a lehigh student a sophomore metallurgist was reprimanded warned and assessed one disciplinary demerit for falsi fication of class attendance record by signing another student's name new hours are started by library a pair of lehigh fraternities were placed on social probation until the end of the semester and nine undergraduates were assess ed disciplinary demerits in disci plinary action for the month of september on recommendation of the fall 63 houseparty judiciary commit tee kappa sigma was placed on social probation for extensive shortcomings in behavior of the chapter as an entity lambda chi alpha was placed on probation for disregarding the university regu sheltermate no 22 to help the student meet his personal expenses the undergrad uate financial aid office is trying to arrange a part-time job to fit his schedule while he is here the cuban refugee student may pursue any curriculum he wishes chest although the financial award must be made on a year-to-year basis campus chest will make every effort to provide its share of the tuition payments for years sub sequent to the student's freshman year the interfraternity council will pay 55 per month for the cuban refugee's board throughout the four years whether he lives in the residence halls or later moves to a fraternity house room expenses of 340 for the first year will be met by the resi dence halls council each year thereafter the money will be re appropriated by rhc the resi dence halls council will also pay for the student's books on a yearly basis a cuban refugee will be given the chance to study at lehigh next year due to the success of the re cent campus chest drive the campus chest will award a four-year partial scholarship to a cuban student to be recommended by the world university service ronald a kahlow 65 campus chest chairman a john mason 64 residence halls council presi dent and carl l mcconnell 64 interfraternity council president were the three students who help ed implement the special scholar ship the student's tuition will be cov ered by financial aid from the uni versity and/or a loan under the national defense education act in addition to the supplementary scholarship from the campus gillespie slated to play at military ball feb 22 pictures of candidates for queen should be turned in to the brown ard white office no later than feb 7 four finalists will then be chosen by the dance committee all pictures should be two by three inches and should show head and shoulders only the name of the girl and her escort should appear on the back the committee for the dance is headed by jim bstelle 64 of the scabbard and blade society dress is formal lehigh's army and ai c force rotc units will hold their annual military ball in the ballroom of the hotel
