with close line formations heavy scrimmage was held on wed nesday and thursday with both the varsity subs and the scrub teams against the first team the general impression that the team gave in its first ap pearance last saturday against st john's is that the forwards are heavy and fast the back field somewhat light and inex perienced but as a whole the team looks well balanced the punting problem is still unsolv ed but it looks as if johnston will be called upon to do most of the kicking the team seems to be in good condition excepting for one or two men it looks as if oiler is lost for the season with a strained ligament olmstead at end and art lehr center seem to be showing rapid improve ment if conditions are favorable tomorrow's game will provide plenty of excitement since morrison wilson and fisher the hello habit was given quite a discussion it seems that the freshmen are not continu ing this old lehigh custom and that as a result it is rapidly falling into disuse the fresh men must remember that altho they are not held as strictly to this as to other rules neverthe less this is a part of their freshman regulations and they should obey it however they should not be
