will be made possible by the fact that on friday evening the trustee board holds a meeting okeson 96 is expected to be present as are a host of other alumni who return to witness the contest but bob other was that the team was liable to fumble from the start of the season the team has shown first a fine spirit and excellent football and then a mediocre style of play that was typified in the muhlenberg and lebanon valley games in spots lehigh s star in the football world has blazed high and shone brilliant ly against yale the team played a fine defensive game and held yale for downs on matter how good or how bad the season is the spectator is sure to see a hard game this is the verdict of men who have been closely watching the athletic rela tions of the two teams for the past three decades the history of the annual game will show that in the number of games won and lost lafayette has an advantage of five the period may be roughly divided into three parts the first two years lafayette was superior then to 1894 lehigh won from 94 to 1912 with now and then a sur prise lafayette was a consistent victor keady came to lehigh and turned out several winners but last year came a necessary to win is to believe you can if you think you're beaten you are if you think you dare not you don't if you like to win but feel you can't it's almost a cinch you won't i believe this is the phi losophy that should underlie all athletic endeavors be it under stood we are not deceived by the 40 to 0 score perm state made against lafayette last week state practically made the same score last year yet lehigh received one of the worst defeats she has had in years i believe nevertheless if lehigh can break up lafayette's forward passing game the result will be assured judging from the games in the past the contest will be hard fought — any team which can play pennsylvania to a stand still in the first half and perm beat state 15 to 0 must be feared by a lehigh team especially when driven by desperation on its own grounds lehigh should win from a comparative showing but those who follow the fortunes of football know that there are internal and external factors which taken at the opportune moment form a decisive factor in the outcome of the con test a special feature of saturday's game will be the press service for a special wire from the sidelines to the press box which will provide good service to newspaper men covering the game with the co operation of the western union company this scheme has been worked out the details of the various plays will be given to art
