secure fourth in medley nosed out by pennsylvania le high leads princeton by a half lap with the defeat of the villanova team here last friday lehigh won her sixth consecutive victor 5 to 4 the game was hotly contested from beginning to end shepherd started his second game for lehigh and kept villanova's hits well scat tered until he was replaced by an derson in the seventh molyneaux of the visitors was wild particu larly in the earl innings fishburn played a remarkable game at short twice accepting chances back of sec ond and throwing out his man at first lehigh scored three runs in the early innings two coming ion the first and one in the third in the first inning molyneaux passed twombley and chenoweth fish burn avas retired and keady walk ed lees doubled scoring twom bley and chenoweth in the third lehigih scored again when lees singled took third on ajbrecht's double to the centre-field bleachers anid came home on an infield out villanova scored in the third tal lying two runs with a single a base on^balls and two costly errors the visitors tied the score in the fourth and went into the lead for the first time in the seventh frame the ninth inning failed to bring any runs to villanova due princi pally to the fielding of fishburn and twombley but lehigh came through with two tallies on a hit a sacrifice two errors and achorn's rap through short the score : — lehigh tion of track and field men that have ever participated in an inter collegiate meet this year's meet saw several records broken and a few established for the first time in the sprint and distance medley races new collegiate marks were hung up as these events are new in college ranks the feature race of the day was the distance medley race in which race the first man covered a quar ter mile the second a half the third three-quarters and the fourth a mile the quartets entered repre sented yale chicago pennsylvania lehigh and princeton yale won by a thirty-yard lead over chicago pennsylvania nosed out lehigh for third place lehigh finishing fourth a half lap ahead of princeton the winning team covered the 2x2 x / 2 miles in 10 minutes and 20 seconds for lehigh h s carlson covered the quarter mile in 52 seconds p s han way ran the half in 2 min utes and 1 second captain j m burke ram the three-quarter mile in 3 minutes and 10 seconds and p l mcgrath ran the mile in 4 minutes and 30 seconds the relays on saturday were at tended by 20,000 persons lehigh finished first in the class in which it was entered covering the mile in the fast time of 3 minutes and 31.8 seconds rutgers finished second lafayette third and washington and jefferson fourth the time made by lehigh was better than that made by the class higher m a morrissey took the lead from the start and finished with a promenade university dance notice the thirty-first production of the mustard and cheese club which was given in the grand opera house on saturday evening was a decided success in every respect a new departure this year was the substitution of a four-act straight comedy for the usual musical com edy and the club as well as mr gheen the coach deserve credit for the successful manner in which they produced the show father and the boys is built around one character and wiegand 15 as the father distinguished himself in his portrayal of lemuel morewood a wool broker who has just taken his two sons into part nership of the sons the one is more or less of a social butterfly and the other is devoted to nothing but athletics father undertakes several different tasks — to interest the boys in the business to have them marry girls whom he has cho sen for them to make a fortune for bessie brayton a western product and to spoil the financial schemes of major bellamy didsworth how he succeeds in spite of many difficulties is brought out cleverly throughout the entire show and the climax comes in the last act when everything he has anticipated is realized no criticism can be offered to any the ball game of the previous day against villamova and thus clearly showed lehigh in her best light to the visiting junior week guests the garnet and white team was clearly out-classed from the start
