game bids fair to be one of the hardest on the lehigh schedule the extension courses planned for this year are much bet ter than before prof hughes in charge all classes were well repre sented at gathering of oldest course society three good papers have a strong team these courses under the direc tion of prof hughes began october thirteenth lawshe 14 g lewis 14 and fehnal 16 read well re ceived papers a fighting parson will be the speaker at the y m c a meeting this sunday evening rev fred erick w beekman fought for his college — amherst on the grid iron playing on the varsity foot ball team for two years he was also a star on the track some of the records he made still remaining unbroken at that institution following his college course he studied at the boston law school and while in that city ran on the same mile-relay team with coach burke the present coach of le high's track team this team held the american championship tied lafayette in opening game and rolled up large score against n y u the muhlenberg team has shown an unusually advanced stage of de velopment ever since the opening game with lafayette on september 27th in this game the allentown eleven sprung a great surprise up on lafayette when they held them to a 7 to 7 tie since this time muhlenberg has improved steadily the score of 56 to 0 made against n y u and the gettysburg score of last saturday 20 to 6 giving some idea of her present strength the game to-morrow then bids fair to be one of the hardest games on lehigh's schedule this season and by no means will the brown and white team tackle an easy proposition lehigh is somewhat crippled from the yale game and also from inju ries received in practice these weak points are being continually strengthened by the old men com ing wednesday af ternoon for a hard scrimmage the second-string men had been given muhlenberg plays and attempted to work them upon the varsity but with little success from the side lines muhlenberg's plays as worked out by the scrubs seem to be old friends revived — the double pass from a kick formation worked so successfully however by the in dians ends around and tackle through tackle it was apparent wednesday that the varsity line is by no means a settled proposition several of the first-squad men have minor injuries that keep them from being in their best playing condition kuhn's shoulder was hurt in the scrimmage scruggs has a bad ankle frank green and saw telle have not quite recovered from yale injuries capt flick will in all likelihood not play in the muhlenberg game a
