radical are of interest to undergraduates are mainly as follows : a forward pass will be deemed incomplete unless it is actually caught by a player be.fore it touch es the ground this means that merely touching the ball does not make the pass complete as hereto fore penalties to be inflicted under the rules relating to forward passes are to be measured from the place of the preceding down instead of from the place from which the pass was made if the ball strikes an official it will not be counted as dead but play will go on without inter mission the intermission between the first two quarters and between the last two quarters has been shorten ed from three to two minutes this practically gives time merely to car ry the ball from one side of the field to the other as goals still have to be changed between quarters as they were last year the rule prohibiting the blocking or tackling of a man receiving a forward pass until he had taken at least one step in any direction has been modified because the officials were unable to enforce it last year the player receiving the pass is still to be uninterfered with but he can be blocked or tackled before he takes a step only three men are allowed to walk up and down the side lines on each side of the field it is always of interest to the un dergraduates as well as to fellow alumni to learn of the activity and success of lehigh graduates and through the kindness of prof f p mckibben head of the civil engineering department who took an extensive trip during the sum mer recess we have received some news concerning j c
