tomorrow lehigh takes a long journey to west point where an other surprise would be just about right according to the dope machine the result figures out as follows : the army defeated rutgers 18-0 and princeton de feated rutgers 37-0 we tied princeton 6-6 and hence should beat the army 19-0 it is true that in the football market army stock rose last saturday on account of the yale score 6-0 here the machine works again : yale lost 6-0 and yale beat syracuse 12-0 lafayette beat syracuse 10-0 and ursinus 3-0 w t e beat ursinus 5-0 and that only gives the army a 6 point lead but even at that these mid-week practices don't always go as smoothly as possible so tak ing an average of the dopes we should win by 10 points the army also played vermont the first game for both teams and the score was 12-0 in favor of the army their line-up has been changed so much that no player seems sure of his place or else the abundance of material is such that no choice is necessary gillespie left end and dean full back seem to be the stars the kicking department con sists of dean for goals from touch downs and arnold a guard for placements the team here has developed wonderfully and has accumulated a great deal of cooperation so when the fellows go to the station to see the team off they may feel sure that in that team are eleven men who will do or die and win lose or draw they will do their best the probable army line-up and weights are as follows : left end gillespie 153 lbs left tackle devore 199 lbs left guard arnold 186 lbs center sibert 160 lbs right guard huston 189 lbs right tackle littlejohn 188 lbs right end hoge 158 lbs quarter back hyatt capt 165 lbs right half-back browne 165 lbs left half-back milburn 152 lbs full back dean 170 lbs the fritz and coxe laborato less than one year from the time ground was broken he referred to the fact that tires were shipped to customers from the very first turning of the machinery he further mentioned that although the inter-ocean was the infant concern with three strong competitors the business of the company through contracts with railroads represented over 25 per cent of the locomotive tire business of the country he touched a very tender chord in the guests assem bled when he stated that all had been more to him than associates — they were his friends as the poet wrote : the span of life isn't lcng enough nor wide enough the sea nor broad enough this weary world to part my friends from me thus mr jacoby described his feelings in parting with his friends in the inter-ocean steel company one and all have always looked up on mr jacoby as their true friend and as such he has always treated them the drown hall meeting on sun day evening will be addressed by bishop talbot a man well known to all lehigh students as an able and forceful speaker a man who always has a message for his hear ers there should be a large crowd to hear the bishop because he is a speaker who knows exactly how to drive a message home to college men continued on third page the score by quarters of the west point lehigh score will be telegraphed to the office of the y m c a drown hall where the undergraduates may
