pittsburg lehigh club acts on athlete situation at the regular smoker of the pittsburg lehigh club held in pittsburg on the evening of may 14th the following resolution was unanimously adopted :- whereas the undergradutes have recently elected a committee to investigate athletics at lehigh with a view to improving conditions and ww 1 1 erea s : th ed i rector of out door sports has felt called upon to publish an open letter in the phila delphia lehigh club news of may 191.0 therefore be it resolved that the pittsburg lehigh club be lieving that silence of the athletic committee is bad policy direct the president and secretary to transmit the following citations and queries to the athletic committee send a copy of these to the secretaries of the various lehigh clubs and to the brown and white and the athletic committee is hereby re reqmtesd to answer these citations as fully as possible before the regular alumni meeting in june ist we understand that a com petent trainer was allowed to go and no one installed in his place and as a result all spring teams are out of condition is this so and if so win ! 2nd we understand a relay team was sent to the it of p meet in philadelphia and the manager was refused an allowance avith which to provide suitable quarters in which to rest his team prepara tory to the race if this is so whs ! also that in order to present a uni form appearance on the field the team was compelled to provide its own uniform if this is so why 3rd that at a recent trip to carlisle the team was inadequately provided with expenses thirty cents per meal per man being the allowance is this so if so why 4th . that the b bown and white reports the recent defeat of the la crosse team at annapolis was large ly due to the exhausting trip from bethlehem that morning if so why was not the team sent from bethlehem the day before to give it a chance to do itself justice ■sth we understand that the i i continued on second page brown and white wins good game changes in line-up lehigh won from franklin and marshall on lehigh field satur day in a well-played game the lehigh team had lots of ginger and played the game every minute not giving their opponents a look-in the change in the line-up was decidedly for the better and the team played together better than ever before the feature of the game was rebert's bare handed catch of what looked like a sure three-sacker wolfram pitched a splendid game striking out 15 men lehigh started the scoring in the third when olsen was passed went to second on wolfram's out at first and scored on robert's beautiful three-bagger to middle f and m broke into the run column in the fifth kemp got to first on a scratch hit stole second took third on a passed ball and crossed the plate on robert's out at first f and m blew up in the sixth and through poor head work handed a quartette of runs to lehigh rebert worked gay ley for a pass borden laid down a pretty bunt and both runners were safe when poutiac made a slow attempt to get rebert at second moore followed suit by placing another bunt over which gayley and pontiac did the alphonse gaston act all three runners being safe with the bases full kemp fumbled fisher's grounder and rebert and borden crossed moore scored on anderson's out at first and fisher brought in the fourth run when richards singled f and m tried hard to do something in the eighth when they had men on second and third with none out but wolfram settled down and fanned the next three men haverford proves to be an easy opponent the track team added another to its list of victories when it defeated the haverford college team at haverford last saturday afternoon by a score of 72 to 40 points pal mer was haverford star man winning three first places while van blareom crocker d.iwson graham and cox won a total of 42 points for lehigh crocker again broke his own and the le high record in the hammer event by a throw of 2 feet 9 inches summary :—: — 100 yard dash — won by mc connell haverford ;
