at the last meeting of the athlet ic committee held on saturday at 2.30 p m in christmas hall the following amendments to the con stitution and by-laws were adopt ed equipment : — any student re ceiving equipment must give a re ceipt for such equipment to the athletic committee and should it not be returned as required by the rules it will be charged against contracts : — when a schedule of games as arranged by a mana ger has been approved by the ath letic committee the manager shall secure a written contract with each team on the schedule setting forth the date guarantee and all other financial or other terms of the agreement under which the game shall be played and file the same with the secretary as required by rule 4 p 9 arranging schedules of games : managers of the base ball lacrosse and track and field teams shall confer with each other during the first term of the college year and decide upon a di vision of the dates each shall have on lehigh field in the following spring term and they shall so ar range their schedules that some game shall be played at home on each saturday during the season if these managers cannot reach a decision before dec ist they shall report the matter to the athletic committee for adjustment at its december meeting the election of the following as sistant managers was approved base ball a j mcmurtrie la crosse g d spiers basket ball a p s bellis track j g shaw and gym s r youner the following resolution was adopted that the college be in structed that hereafter this com mittee will not sanction the elec tion of a student as manager or assistant manager of an athletic team if such student is a candidate for a position on any athletic team mcminn 07 kennedy 07 and kent 07 were elected auditors to act with the faculty and alumni members in auditing the accounts of the treasurer an additional lafayette game to be played at easton on june 15th was approved subject to the condi tiori that the lafayette game sched uled to be played at easton on june bth be played in south bethlehem f e troutman 08 was elected athletic representative at large for next year on saturday after noon lafayette defeated 4 to 2 galbraith knocks first home run of season hesse pitches well and receives good support over a thousand enthusiastic spectators saw 1 lehigh triumph over her old rival lafayette on saturday for the first time in four years the game was extremely interesting and exciting at all times especially is this true in the eighth with the score three to two in our favor mcavoy la fayette's best hitter came to the bat with a man on second and third here a hit meant two runs and very likely the game for tunately however mcavoy was not able to rise to the occasion and he was an easy out with a ground er to bason who retired him at first both flesse and edwards showed almost perfect control of the ball for no passes were issued during the whole game phenom enal pitching by hesse and excel lent support from every man on the team saved the game for vs — our hitting won it we were un fortunate in not having kirk at third but fleming played the posi tion perfectly having five assists one out and no errors our first run was scored in the second after upte flied to pet ers galbraith started it off with a line drive over long's head the ball hit the ground in front of swank bounced over his head and went rolling down the track while gal was making the cir cuit of the bases our second run came in the fourth barker hit to left upte graff swatted to deep center and barker scored in the seventh we scored again bason hit to mc avoy who fumbled and kicked the ball while bason took second ser fass followed with a two bagger which scored bason we got our final run in the eighth mackall got a pretty tripple to center the ball going under the bleachers a very neatly executed squeeze play resulted in our fourth run barker bunted and mackall scored lafayette scored her two runs in the sixth and eighth knox sco-red on snooks hit to center in the sixth and in the eighth kelly scored on drives by peters and snook which were not fielded the score by innings : first — knox hit a grounder to hesse who threw him out at first ; sterner retired snook mcavoy following 1 with a hit over flem ing's head and was caught while stealing second mackall struck l out edwards retired sterner at first and barker hit a foul to snook second — uptegrove hit to gal j braith long followed with a double to deep center edwards ninth — uptegrove flied to fleming long and edwards had two flies to serfass and sterner re spectively final score lehigh 4 lafayette 2 continued on fourth page eighth — swank hit to fleming kelley got a two-bagger on the er ror by serfass peters got to first on another error knox hit bason snook grot to first on bason's error ;
