rev s u mitman addresses opening meeting the first meeting of the young men's christian association was held on sunday evening in christ mas hall the meeting was quite well attended considering the fact that it was the first meeting of the year the rev s u mitman acting chaplain was the speaker of the evening and his address concerned itself mainly with the two views of life taken by men in general the optimistic and pessimistic views he urged all association men espe sially to live with optimistic views bible study classes will begin next sunday morning at 9.30 o'clock in christmas hall or in the rooms of various leaders as may seem more convenient rev mr thaeler of the mora vian church will address the meet ing on next sunday evening should be secured at once the athletic tickets are not sell ing as fast as they should especially among the new men the upper classmen buy the tickets at the opening of each season but the underclassmen pay a few fifty cents single admittances before they wake up to the advantage ojf getting twenty fifty-cent admittanfces for five dollars the committee in charge of ath letics at lehigh has adopted this method of putting the various teams on a firm financial basis and it is only by the entire student body purchasing season tickets that the teams we now have can be given needed support the price at which the tickets are sold leaves little grounds for refusing to help any athletics and it is earnestly hoped that the remaining under graduates will purchase season tickets before the foot ball game on wednesday founder's day announcement the 26th celebration of founder's day will be held on thursday morning october 12th 1905 at 11 o'clock the founder's day ad j dress in memory of the founder of ■the university asa packer will be delivered by the hon hampton l carson attorney-gen eral of penn sylvania in connection with these i exercises will occur the inaugura i tion of henry sturgis drinker as !
