to be held may 2nd the annual interclass track meet will be held wednesday may 2nd beginning at 2 p.m all en tries should be handed to dr suiter or captain pyne on or before tuesday may ist this meet in addition to the competition side is in fact a preliminary try-out for the track team and all men of any ability whatever whether in field or track events are urged to come out as in this way some new mate rial may be discovered the prospects for a good team this year are fairly bright as most of last year's squad is in college and some very promising new men have been developed the management has had a little difficulty in arranging its schedule as several teams declined to come to south bethlehem on the same terms that were given us when meets were held on their fields however arrangements have been completed for the following meets : may 16 swarthmore at south bethlehem may 23 f and m at south bethlehem may 26 rutgers at new bruns wick june 2 lafayette at easton it has not been decided whether or not a relay team will be sent to the u of p relay races but the quarter-milers will be tried out thursday and in all probability a team will be picked mining society at a meeting of the tennis club held wednesday afternoon at sau con hall it was decided to purchase tennis balls for the club so that the members may get them at reduced rates all members are urged to pay up their dues at once and all men intending to join should do so immediately so that another court can be fixed up early one court is now ready lor use but only those members who have paid their dues will be allowed to play final rules governing the times when the court may he used will be adopted tomorrow town and gown the second sophomore cotillion will be held in the sun inn annex on the evening of may 4 1906 the night before the mustard and cheese performance and the first lafayette baseball game of the season the music will be fur nished by groman and the refresh ments by morgan the commit tees are endeavoring to make this the best dance of the year and all members of the cotillion club are earnestly requested to give the club their hearty support supply burfau notice the second joint meeting with lafeyette which was scheduled to be held at kaston may 2 has been lehigh 11 u of va 1 the lacrosse team of the univer sity of virginia was defeated by lehigh on the home field last wed nesday by the score of 1 1 to i although an easy victory the score would have been much larger had the attack put up their customary strong gam ;. the ball was in the possession of lehigh's attack al most the entire time and it was only through their inability to locate the net and the good work of virginia's goalkeeper that more goals were not scored the game opened with a rush and after a neat pass by wrightson porter threw the first goal after a minute and a half of play the second goal was scored by duncan who received the ball from barwis after a great deal of scrimmage lehigh had possession of the ball during the rest of the half virginia getting but two shots at the net both of which were stopped by carlock wrightson and porter each added another and duncan two goals during this half the second half was very similar to the first prechtl threw two goals and porter one when the sub stitute attack was put in and goals were secured by j porter and daniels toward the close of the game three of lehigh's defense men were taken from the game and the team played with nine men it was only then that virginia se cured her first and only score the line up : lehigh virginia carlock enjoyable af fair a large number of college men were present c w thorn 97 is as-istant engineer of construction for the pennsylvania railroad in charge of the elevation of the amboy division and west jersey & sea shore railroad tracks at caniden n j the work will require three years to complete class books the photographs of the various groups for the 1906 class book have all been taken beginning on tuesday afternoon the groups of the various departments were taken and on wednesday at noon the photo of the entire class was taken at the chapel the group of liter ary men musical and dramatic the athletes captains and managers and the class book committee were all taken on the campus dur ing the afternoon on monday at 12 m the faculty picture will be taken at the west entrance of packer hall j h wolfe 05 was about town a few days this week notice ! the mu-tard and cheese man agement wish it understood that owing to the short time remaining for practice and the importance of reporting regularly those men who do not report for rehearsal will be dropped from the cast or chorus applications for the position of assistant manager of the supply bureau should be left at the sup ply bureau within a week a meet ing of the board of directors will be held on saturday may 5 at 12 m at which time the election of officers will take place and nom inations for the board of directors from the the morning of may 3 at boyer's drug store on broad street bethlehem and at the opera house ticket office the patronesses tickets will be on sale at both the above places may 2 tennis club the
