fourth page resume of the season of igo6 the lacrosse season just closed has been rather disappointing to lehigh men not only because our team failed to win a majority of its games but because some games were lost which could have been won although almost half of last year's team graduated and left places very difficult to fill, the squad in the early part of the season was so large and of such calibre that a successful season seemed assured but as usual a series of accidents happened to some of the best men and greatly reduced the strength of the team the season opened with a vic tory over c c n y by a score of 11 to o in the second game with the philadelphia lacrosse club our men played a fairly strong consistent game columbia was defeated 6-1 and then came the cornell game this game which resulted in a tie should have been an easy victory the great fault of the team to loaf in the first half and then outplay their opponents in the second was here most clearly shown with the score 3 to o against them at the be ginning of the second half the team made a splendid fight and scored 3 goals making the final score 3 to 3 university of virginia was easily defeated but when it came to the ■championship contests we lost them all hopkins and stevens were played on our own field and our team played well in both games but were defeated by the superior stick work and better team work of their opponents lehigh's center men were usual ly slower than their opponents and although the attack brought the ball in well they seemed unable to shoot the goals the defense put up a strong consistent game the individual playing of some of the men was very high porter and prechtl at attack played strong games and secured the majority of lehigh's goals on the defense barth johnston and carlock put up the best games although the playing of the whole team was of a high order the great fault with the team however was lack of i stick work which can only be cor i rected by long winter practice by next year the cage should be in condition and afford a place for this work a short meeting of the glee club was held and reel 07 was elected leader at a recent meeting of the uni versity musical clubs van vleck 08 was re-elected manager and finnic 08 was elected assistant manager for next year a com mittee consisting of finnic baker and clawson was appointed to draw up a constitution
