the body was taken to the prior home in a motor hearse followed by hun dreds of friends and relatives including students members of the faculty of lehigh and other universities the services were conducted at 2:30 on tuesday at the prior home as many more floral pieces and wreaths appeared at these services as at the most impressive one held here monday many members of the lehigh football squad attended and the same members of the team who acted as pallbearers at the ser vices held here conducted the body of the loyal son of lehigh to its final resting place there were also present members of the football teams of muhlen berg rutgers and lafayette colleges including the captains and managers of these teams in view of the fact that the rev f t trafford has been in \ con on page 4 col 5 representatives of the stu dent bodies of these three col leges and of lehigh were pres ent to convey the heartfelt sym pathy and condolences of their respective alma maters pro fessor and mrs h r reiter and head coach wendell attended the bereaved family and assist ed in this time of grief lehigh university is to fur nish reports for this section of the state on daily weather con ditions this is to be accom plished through the purchase and use of a complete set of met eorological instruments such as are used by the government weather bureau weather reports are to be broadcast daily from the sta tion to be established at lehigh all of the newspapers in the le high valley and vicinity will be able to publish these reports for their readers up to the pres ent time there have been no wea ther reports available for this section of the state so it can be seen that lehigh will be perfor ming no small service to the surrounding country by the in stallation use and broadcast ob servations of these instruments believing that the installa tion of such equipment will ma terially improve the character of the course in meteorology that it will excite the interests of students generally and that it will give the university consid erable publicity in this vicinity through the publication of the daily weather reports dr rich ards has recommended and it has been definitely been decided to purchase the complete set such as those used by the weath er bureau to the value of seve ral thousand dollars and also to employ an observer to take daily observations con on page 4 country under the auspices of the new stu dent and the y m c a to further interest in the world court plan a bill on this plan will be introduced into congress on december 17 and it is the aim of this movement to give the subject wide publicity by arous ing student sentiment in favor of it the brown and white will run a series of articles on the subject written by authori ties throughout the country part of the movement will con sist of a poll of student senti ment on the subject after the students have had ample oppor tunity to become familiar with its scope and purpose a na tional conference for discussion of the subject will be held at princeton university during the second week in december and it is not unlikely that * lehigh will be represented there will also be sectional freshmen welcomed georgetown the next oppon ent of the brown and white team looms up on the horizon as the most dangerous and most formidable opposition encoun tered thus far this season lou little a former perm star is coaching the hilltoppers and has his eleven groomed to such a point of perfection that two of his men are prophesised to ap pear on the annual ail-ameri can line-up only one defeat has been meted out to them dur ing the entire season bucknell managed to down them a week ago last saturday even with their muclf-heralded weight however the bucknell eleven won only by a narrow margin of one point they scored a fiield goal and held the georgetown team to a safety making the fi nal score 3to 2 the mighty bucknell team was unable to cross the hilltopper's goal line altho they succeeded in scoring a touchdown on the holy cross eleven will lehigh be able to romp over this well-guarded line the brilliant georgetown team has scored 157 points dur ing the season and has held its opponents to a scant 16 this tremendous score is positive proof that this team is powerful on the defensive as well as on the offensive only once has their goal-line been crossed dur ing the six games they have played furthermore only two teams have been able to score a field goal against this powerful grid machine four of their op con on page 4 col 3 faculty expresses sympathies for loss of prior the department of physical education has just placed an or der for 200.00 worth of med als these medals are to be used in intra-mural sports this is something which has never been done before week omit ting practice on monday they were defeated last saturday at cornell but the race was very close and lehigh did very well considering the strength of the cornell team also if experience is the best teacher the lehigh runners ougt to show a g?eat improvement for they have been getting lots of that recently and usually with the worst condi tions possible for running the team left at eight o'clock this morning and went to new york from there they proceded to schenectady they intend to go over the course friday evening in trucks the men who will run are captain laudig aitken askin chickering maxwell hang and ridsdale they were accompanied by coach kanaly and manager freeman mercersburg's strength can not be denied they always when the varsity travels to georgetown this saturday the freshman team will also travel they go to meet the mercers burg academy football team at mercersburg mercersburg is noted for its high quality of athletics and the frosh expect a real battle the team was keenly disap pointed when the game satur day was called off as they had held some stiff practice in pre paration for the game and were primed for the match however they have gone at their work again this week just as in dustriously there were no prac tices monday or tuesday but work was resumed wednesday with scrimmage as the big fea ture of the afternoon the rest of the week was spent in pick ing out flaws in the different de partments of the game the team is light but has speed and this more than makes up for the lack of weight there are over three full teams out every after noon and each man has to work to keep his place on the team they have had a good rest now and all are in good shape phy sically the team has developed fast since the rutgers game and though far from
