bers and support the reputation of leliigh for it must be remembered that the first game is little more than three weeks off and much can be done in that time in bringing the different men up to the right stage of training track team practice began last monday but very little has been done thus far those of last year's teams have shown very little inter est so far most of the men who have turned out being freshmen but next week begins the daily drills in the gym and it is to be hoped that every candidate for the team will turn out as the training received is invaluable and this method is the only way to get the muscles in working order until it becomes pos sible to get out on the track and also to take the cross country runs which were so popular last spring as has been the case in all other years the chief weakness lies in the weight events and those men who have worked in that line before are particularly urged to come out for lehigh's rivals generally have an easy time in winning most of the places in these events the fresh man class this year has many good track men and these combined with last year's strong team should cer tainly turn out a team for lehigh which will be equal to any we ever have had so that the prospects for this year are unusually bright the gym team has been working steadily in preparing for their first meet and the men have become ex ceedingly well developed in their particular lines so that when the meets come off they can put up the best exhibition of which they are capable the brown and white lehigh university south bethlehem pa thursday february 27 1902 calendar no 35 athletic teams mustard and cheese the various teams are starting to practice rehearsals are being held regularly lehigh 24 state college 22 vol ix basket ball thursday feb 27 — at 5 p m varsity basket ball practice in the gym at 7.15 p m forum meeting friday feb 28 — at 11.30 a m 1904 class meeting in saucon hall at 8 p m gym meet with u of p at athletic club in philadel phia at 5 p m varsity basket ball practice in the gym at 9 p m sophomore cotillion club meeting at the brighton saturday march i—at1 — at 2 p m mustard and cheese rehearsal in christmas hall at 8.15 p m basket ball game with lafayette in easton sunday march 2 — at 9.15 a m bible class in the y m c a rooms at 2 p m glee club rehearsal in delta u house monday march 3 — at 7.15 p m arcadia meeting on new street bethlehem notices the basket ball team will play lafayette at easton on saturday at 8.15 p m there will be a meeting of the sophomore cotillion club at the brighton on friday feb 28th at 9 p.m the rehearsals of the mustard and cheese dramatic association are being held at regular periods and much work has been done to make the performance when it is given a success the exact date of the production is not known but the show will be given some time shortly after the easter vacation some of the men on the cast must be reminded that in the final choice punctuality in attendance and hard work learning their part counts for much and if any men show a lack of interest in their parts they will be promptly dropped and other men who will work for the success of the play picked to fill their places the rehearsal held on wednesday afternoon went off well considering the fact that it was the first rehear sal in which the parts were not rea«.s and it is hoped that a gradual im provement will be made at each re hearsal so that when the date for the play arrives it will meet with as great success as did dandy did last spring the men who filled the separate parts at the last rehearsal were firpo graham reese johnson hutchinson johnston scott ed monds pollitt heritage , and angle the next rehearsal is on saturday at 2 o'clock in christmas hall and everybody on the cast must be present
