some hopes of repeating there in the afternoon her signal defeat of yale of last year those hopes however were not only buried but the tombstone was whitewashed the game started promptly on yale field before a crowd of 2000 people the way lehigh took yale into camp last year was re membered and some curiosity as to her team was felt but the puz zling delivery of cook yale's best pitcher never allowed from our point of view even a start to be made cook struck out eight of the nine lehigh players for a total of eleven men and held them down to a scanty five hits while yale managed to find taylor for thirteen hits including three home runs and two two-baggers these comparative statistics show plainly enough the reason for the blue's victory yale started off with two runs in the first inning both sides were then retired without result until the fourth inning when sharpe made the longest hit ever seen on the yale field for a home run and the yale scorer marked up three more tallies sharpe repeated his hit equalling his own distance record of the fourth in the sixth inning and again yale made three runs in the inning and to speed the parting guest as it were yale banged out three
