medical science at a recent meeting of the fa culty a rule was adopted which divides each term for the future into two report periods instead of three as formerly this means that the heads of the de interfere in any way with the departmen tal periods which have varied from two to six weeks hereto fore that question is left en tirely in the hands of the de partment heads one reason for this new rul ing is that the faculty found the first six weeks of any term an insufficient time to judge the true value of a man's work the new system will largely elimin ate this it will also be more fair to the student by extend ing the period one third of it's original length another reason for the eight week period is the belief of the faculty that six-week reports are rushing or checking too much for the college men such periods are desirable in prep schools where frequent reports are necessary but they hardly apply to colleges that eight week periods are for the benefit of the students may readily be seen and this highly commendable action of the faculty should be favored by everyone the lehigh university dra matic club is working diligent ly on its production for this year the
