lehigh 5 allentown 11 lehigh played a practice game with the allentown league team at rittersville yesterday afternoon up through the sixth inning the game was close and interesting but then three bases on balls and a couple of timely hits put allen town well in the lead lehigh played well with the exception of a little laxity at times the men hit well and opportunely hardly a safe hit being wasted so nicely were they bunched car man's three bagger in the sixth bringing in two men was a feature of the game the allentown team fielded well and batted strongly their great superiority lay in their ability to take quick advantage of their opponent's misplays the game was one which served well for practice and we think no harm would come from playing a game frequently with allentown their team seems to be composed of a nice gentelmanly lot of ball play ers rather different from the ordi nary type of professionals the detailed score follows : score by innings lehigh 1 0000400 o—s
