the four 4 vice presidents : two 2 men from each of the upper classes and one man from each of the lower classes to be elected by their respective classes article 11 sec 1 — the duties of the secret committee shall be to register the number of charges of fraud against individuals and evidence of said charges and also to present after four 4 different charges~of fraud the evidence in writing before the honor court this secret commit tee is to warn the offender imme diately after the second charge the object of the aforesaid warn ing is simply to caution the man lest he be brought before the honor court sec 2 — the object of the honor court shall be to try cases of fraud in university work namely exam inations recitations and all writ ten work and to impose punish ment as they see fit sec 3 — the duty of the student body shall be : first the students shall agree to the pledge we the students of lehigh university do hereby pledge ourselves on our honor to abstain from all fraud in university work secondly in accepting this system we the stu dents of lehigh university do agree to send in a written state ment to the secret committee stating the facts of fraud noticed in university work and signed by the writer's full name it to be understood that correspondence between accuser and secret com mittee is to be kept entirely secret and under no circumstances is the name of the accuser to be divulged to any but the president of the honor court article 111 section 1 — any member of the university noticing fraud in any manner has the privilege of bring ing his case directly before the honor court but will be required to submit his evidence in person class officers explanation how a charge is to be made to the secret committee : a person continued on second page the brown and white lehigh university south bethlehem pa thursday december 16 1897 track athletics vol y no 22 col prout's lecture colonel henry g prout the lec turer in the university course on saturday morning dec 18 is agrad uate of west point who had the honor of serving on the staff of general gordon in the campaign of 1875 in the soudan vfor the past fifteen years colonel prout has been the editor of the railroad gazette of new york and is a high authority on railroad operation and management the subject of his lecture is " railroad accidents and how to prevent them ;" and the different classes of signals and wrecks will be illustrated by lan tern slides calendar thursday dec 16 senior c bt examination in astronomy in the physical laboratory regular meeting of the elec trical engineering society in the physical laboratory at 7.80 p m saturday dec 18 — lecture or emerson by mr emery r at 8.30 a m university lecture at 9.30 a m in physical laboratory 98 class meeting 10.30 a m in the physical laboratory college meeting to consider honor system immediately after mr prout's lecture joint debate of agora and forum in the evening sunday dec 19 — kegular meet ing of the christian associa tion at 6.15 p m in christ mas hall wednesday dec 22 — freshman algebra examination at 8 a.m in the physical laboratory christmas holidays begin at 12.30 p m ec-examination in metal lurgy problems at 2 p m agora-forum meeting a special joint meeting of the agora and forum was held tues day night to complete the arrange ments for the meeting saturday evening a marked interest is no ticeable concerning the result of the contest and it is hoped that all the members will come out and make the meeting a success dr drown's condition dr drowns improvement has been steady and there is every probability that it will continue unless something unlookedforhap pens the bulletins will be discon tinued it might be well to bring before those interested in such matters the fact that there is promising material in college at present from which to develop a good track team heretofore there has been to a certain extent a lack of ma terial in college and what is worse a lack of interest a great deal of hard conscientious work was done last fall by the lower classmen and this interest should be kept up to develop a good track team takes long and hard training in order to get the men in proper condition and this can only be accomplished by taking a stiff course of gymnasium work before the season opens mr smith is always willing and anxious to give the men any points as to the kind of exercise best suited for such work several of the track men are regular attendants at the five o'clock drills and their example should be followed by all the track men if sufficient interest is taken in track athletics the captain and management will do all in their power to get the meet of the inter collegiate association of pennsyl vania on lehigh grounds next may captain hornor is a hard conscientious worker and with the hearty support of the college will develop a team that will be a credit to lehigh every man having ability in this line should come out
