the task of referee how successful he was may be seen later play was opened by rine hart's kick to okeson on lehigh's 30 yard line he made 10 yards before he fell then barnard and gass were unable to gain and fitzgerald kicked 30 yards to strader who was downed as he caught by okeson worthington and sigman each made 10 but the next few plays only gained 2 and the ball went to lehigh before it could be put into play however gaston gave it back to his lafayette friends for no reason that anybody could see then bar clay made 3 yards boericke couldn't get through the line and senior got through on rinehart for a loss of 4 yards holderness caught strader's kick but the ball soon went back on downs on lafay ette's 40-yard line barclay gained 8 yards but van dujme got worthington for no gain and traf ton caught rinehart's short kick then barnard lost 2 yards and fitz kicked to sigman sigman muffed the ball inside the line and it rolled over gass falling on it just 25 yards from lafayette's goal gas ton made him give up the ball to lafayette but why nobody seemed to know after some argument captain trafton yielded and sig man made 4 yards by bucking the line rinehart and barclay made 5 and 10 yards respectively by the same process but the latter muffed the ball to lehigh this again displeased gaston and he returned the ball to lafayette the latter then by steady line-bucking carried the ball up 50 yards to our goal and pushed sigman over for the first touchdown time 21 minutes of actual play the goal was beautifully blocked by keys and score stood 4-0 sigman
