response to provocation on the part of the vietnamese he added vanocur made it clear that it is not the wish of the united states to wage war with the people of south viet nam he said there is a real possibility of buddhist take-over in viet nam the buddhists he noted have changed from a religious sect to a pow erful political force that could make an agreement with the com munists today for the first time amer ican marines came into direct mil itary conflict with the viet cong vanovur said we are close to becoming involved in a war of much greater scope in asia and when this point is reached it is essential that we look at the pos sible future consequences at a point when we are so close to an escalated military operation in viet nam he said confusion apparently exists about what our fewer than 50 other libraries in the nation which have computerized filing systems james d mack university librarian said in an exclusive in terview saturday that plans for the new library of science and en gineering also call for the use of computer filing the library computerization pro ject scheduled for completion sometime this fall is under the direction of mrs anne flannery associate librarian the new project will have an ibm charging system at the loan desk in the library the univer sity will issue to every student in addition to the student i.d card a separate ibm card with the stu dent's name and social security number punched in it each book in the library will have a separate ibm number when a book is charged at the desk the student's ibm card and the card from the book will be in serted into a keypunch machine which will produce a composite card containing all of the informa tion on both cards dedication of dorm slated for reunion the new residence halls complex will be dedicated during the alumni reunion to be held june 4-6 more than 21,000 alumni and their families have been invited to the campus for this centennial all-class reunion according to robert a harrier executive secretary of the alumni association the program will include academic presentations in each of the university's three colleges campus tours and centennial and class dinners also included will be the annual business meeting broadway entertainment a fashion show an 11-band parade intercollegiate sports events concerts art hobby and rare book exhibits picnics awards and other special events an unusual feature of this reunion will be the construction of a large tent city on the new 500-acre athletic campus in saucon valley these tents will serve as sites for social events and class dinners with a huge big top set up for entertainment and various programs music for charity — the university glee club and concert band performed saturday at the bethlehem lions club concert decision was made because of the new trend of featuring con certs rather than dances at the big party weekends according to stephen f goldmann 66 president of the sponsoring junior class goldmann also indicated that problems experienced in the selection of a fall houseparty queen were a major factor in the decision despite this loss of traditional color the planned show will go on starting at 9 p.m
