that a need existed to bring the issues back into the limelight both professors agreed and said they also felt that the united states cannot afford policies which stop at the water's edge tipton said that sen goldwater not only understands our foreign policy problems but has the courage to work for their solution if elected in a slap at democratic policies tipton said challenges to the united old quarters renovated administrators move in confiscated poll parr's action questioned parr's seizure of ballot scored lehigh's top administrators are back in their own offices renovated quarters in the alum ni memorial building are now be ing occupied by the president vice president provost treasurer and assistant treasurer it was a big job on july 30 everyone in the south wing ex cept the provost was moved to temporary offices in the univer sity center three months later the job was completed all the walls in the old wing of the alumni building were torn out and the area was completely redesigned eight beautiful and functional offices have been created where only six existed before it was the first change in the offices in 38 years commenting on the temporary quarters dr charles a seidle vice-president for administration said we are grateful to the stu dents and to the personnel of the university center for their fore bearance and courtesy while we occupied temporary quarters in that building he said that although some of our new furniture will not be in stalled until the middle of novem ber we are now ready to receive visitors according to dr seidle the change was pointed out that the poll had the approval of ar cadia he added that every effort was made to comply with the uni versity's rules in this respect as for the merits of the poll i pass no judgement one can only assume that in authorizing its distribution arcadia as part of its responsibility gave suffi cient weight to that aspect crawford called for an investi gation of the occurence by the brown and white he said that it would seem to be an obliga tion of the brown and white as the student newspaper to look thoroughly into all aspects of the incident and its implications he added that certain organizer of the poll said it sounds like you're trying to sup press something up there he pointed out that everyone knew about the poll and had given the foreign policy aired lu has great debate on issues of campaign vance packard to start festivities for parents upperclasstnen and their parents will join with faculty members in grace hall with faculty wives serving as hostesses tickets already distributed to the upperclassmen are required at the luncheon after the luncheon parents and their sons may attend the lehigh-davidson football game in taylor stadium beginning at 1:30 p m tickets must be secured in taylor gymnasium before 5 p m friday saturday evening the department of music will present its annual parents concert featuring the lehigh glee club and band the concert begins at 8:15 in grace hall the university's permanent art collection in the university center and drown hall will be open to parents and their sons as will the exhibit on presi dential elections in the library and the alumni memorial building galleries on sunday morning parents and their sons are invited to attend the regular 11 a m chapel ser vice in the packer memorial church rev john mcgill krumm chaplain of columbia university will speak nearly 3,000 parents students and guests are expected to participate in the varied program pre pared for the three-day upperclassman parents weekend beginning next friday evening vance packard noted american author and critic will initiate the weekend activities with a speech invasion of privacy at 8:15 friday evening in packard auditorium no tickets are required for the residence halls council sponsored speaker earlier friday evening dr and mrs w deming lewis will give a dinner for the members of the university parents committee at the saucon val ley country club mr john d harper president of alcoa and chairman of the parents committee will preside at 10:30 saturday morning parents and sons will hear dr lewis speak in packard auditorium the university's new sound and color film frontiers for the future will also be shown there a coffee hour will precede the program in the auditorium lobby at a saturday luncheon beginning
