strive to cor rect the mistakes and to improve the organization . . . the counsel ing system is much stronger than the sum total of its individual members this group dynamic must be retained • as i examined the freshman university vice-president for administration dr charles a seidle yesterday released a state ment of principles and policies on the gryphon society it is not my function to recom mend specific practices and proce dures although i believe certain changes are clearly indicated in the context of the statement seidle said the statement contains six con clusions • the only actual conflict which i see between the freshman resi dence halls counseling system and other living groups is in the de sire of all such groups to secure for themselves top leadership through the recruiting and train ing particularly able freshmen sophomores . . . surely the num ber of able students is large enough for all groups to select their future leaders ... i suggest that further consideration be given to the tim ing of their selection i cannot find any conflict be tween the freshman residence halls counseling system as a profession al society and the gryphon so ciety as a social group . . . the freshmen residence halls counsel ors and the members of the gryph on society are synonomous and i see no reason why they should not be ... at the same time i see no reason why a man who belongs to another living group should be excluded by virtue of that membership from consideration for a position as a residence halls counselor and therefore as a mem ber of the gryphon society seidle suggested
