32 cadets win awards in decoration ceremony corps and outstanding qualities as potential air force officers the chicago tribune awards awarded for outstanding military achievements scholastic attain ment and character went to rob ert r grimm ned a diehl mar tin c faga and thomas c rob erts james o snyder and edward k kutchma captured the staff awards for excellence in leader ship while serving as cadet com see deems page 6 bus research aimed to assist gov'ment units 1400 to march in parade the rev dr george arthun buttrick the harry emerson fos dick visiting professor at union theological seminary in new york will present the baccal aureate sermon sunday june 11 in grace hall the change in location from the traditional packer memorial chap el was announced friday dr buttrick a native of england is also plummer professor emer itus of christian morals at har vard university he was graduated from victoria university and the lancashire in dependent seminary he has re ? sir hugh stott taylor union theo's buttrick to give baccalaureate sir hugh stott taylor president of the wood row wilson national fellowship foundation at prin ceton will deliver the address at the university's 93rd commencement exercises monday june 12 in gracs hall he will speak on academic excel lence dr harvey a neville vice-president and pro vost will confer degrees upon 500 seniors at the ex ercises approximately 130 graduate students will receive advanced degrees dr taylor dean emeritus of the graduate school and david b jones professor emeritus of chemistry at princeton plays a key role in the ad vancement of american graduate education as the first president of the woodrow wilson foundation after more than four decades of continuous as sociation with princeton dean taylor was in 1958 appointed president of the independent foundation that is dedicated to combating the national shortage of college teachers a native of england and graduate of the univer sity of liverpool dr taylor is noted for his work in catalytics photochemistry radiochemistry and chemical kinetics instrumental in the development of the james forrestal research center at princeton he served as chairman of the department of chemistry from 1926 to 1951 and dean of the graduate school from 1945 until his retirement as president of the faraday so see taylor page 5 ? a total of 32 students received 28 awards at the annual military awards and decorations ceremony yesterday afternoon in grace hall maj newton b collingson jr professor of air science and lieut col edmund r butch professor of military science and tactics di rected the presentation ceremonies which were followed by a parade and review of the rotc corps in taylor stadium william b deem recently elected to phi beta kappa topped the list of army rotc students who receive awards yesterday deem won or shared six army awards including the president's award given for scholastic excellence and military achievement shared with roy w briggs and bernard f oppel for the air force and russell t hamm and arthur roede for the army oppel also received the arnold air society award along with laurence f asher the award is granted to outstanding members of the society douglass g wood frank m zahorobsky edward v murphy and edward k kutchma received professor of air science awards for outstanding contribution to the ?
