see seniors page 9 rhc refuses to accept resident officers in halls residence halls council has unani mously refused to accept the impo sition of resident officers in upper class residence halls until three con ditions are met the conditions presented to the group by arcadia represen tative jack branning at wednes day night's meeting will be for warded to director of residence halls c b campbell in the form of a recommendation the resolution states the residence officer program should not be in stituted until 1 rhc is consulted on the issue 2 an equitable agreement between campbell and rhc concerning resident officers has been reached and 3 the names of men who are to serve as resident officers are sub mitted to rhc for approval in the two-and-one quarter hour session council vigorously debated the proposal and finally moved in to a closed meeting of the commit tee of the whole before finally ac cepting branning's motion after the closed session newly elected rhc president william eberhart stated council his dis cussed the question of resident officers we should recommend to mr campbell the installation of these officers be postponed until the second semester of next term so associate professor emeritus of english was named the dedicatee of the 1959 epitome at flagpole day ceremonies wednesday in dedicating the epitome to dr riley richard k ber nard 59 editor-in-chief said this year we would like to honor one who has made his contribution to the mind and heart of the lehigh student one who has directly fostered students growth and development this dedication therefore is offered as a token of student appreciation to one who has given his lifetime to the ideal of inspired and devoted teaching dr riley who retired june 30 1958 after 32 years on the faculty considered the dedication to be the finest tribute i could ever hope to receive he explained that teachers re wards are intangible ones the dedication is the finest ex pression that there is a
