student is liable to become involved in a serious acci dent while making the return trip the other parr reason ac cording to mooney is that at tention has been drawn to just about every drinking establish ment in the county because of the recent interpretation of the pa liquor code by judge wil liam g barthold parr felt that any student accidents or any ungentlemanly action would bring undesired publicity to the university at a bad time last year's concert was held at hungarian hall while the previous year's jam session took place at the frolics both establishments turned down offers from ifc this year supplying the music for the con cert will be max kaminsky and his band kaminsky is known through out the east for his fast and furious rhythms he is featured at the cen tral plaza in new york city and is a great favorite of the college set scl offers piano show paul banks president of the delta upsilon club in scranton and the former secretary treasurer of the du club in philadelphia will be the main speaker next friday for the ifc pledge banquet which will kick off the ifc weekend festivities banks who has chosen for his topic when greek meets greek was the head of the committee which built the du house at perm state university a graduate of perm states he heads his own insurance com pany other speakers who will deliver short remarks are president martin d whitaker deans wray h cong see banquet page 4 of the student body most of the men for the proposal stated that the proposed changes will strengthen the group and facili tate closer cooperation among groups the student government did how ever vote to hold student elections on the proposal in concurrence with class elections under arcadia's constitution the polls will remain open until the necessary 50 per cent of the student body votes in the election at least three fourths of the students par ticipating in the election must vote yes if the proposal is to go into effect also stipulated in the consti tution is that the proposal must be presented to the student body at least 30 days before the elec tion the proposal made by arnold rosenberg 57 and his committee for the revision of march 10 at 4 p.m in packer chapel the bryn mawr college choir will join the lehigh glee club in a musical service featuring a performance of the great mass in e-flat by schubert the fourth and final event in the series of concerts this mass was performed last sunday at bryn mawr by the two groups but this sunday's perform ance will have the added chamber orchestra and soloists from the le high band robert cutler will direct free tickets for the friday and saturday performances may be ob tained free of charge at the music department offices tunnel rats string cable echoes of paris vienna italy broadway latin america holly wood budapest and many more will fill the air this evening start ing at 7:30 in broughal junior high school auditorium as pianist george feyer performs the concert sponsored by the student concerts-lectures com mittee will be free to students presenting id cards guests and friends may obtain tickets for 1 feyer studied at the budapest conservatory under dohnanyi including a ram-set gun steel cable hangers and end brack ets were lugged into the dusty tun nel as the temperature sagged to a tropical 105 degrees at 12:15 a.m the all-night party began the project was to provide a messenger cable for heavier co axial lines that will carry student broadcasting to the upper campus when the new studios are com pleted the coaxial line will be sus pended from the petition to hold a jazz concert with beer at dorney park outside of allentown according to joe mooney past president of ifc a new petition which calls for no refreshments will be submitted to the deans office for the new location dorney park was the closest place ifc was able to get to hold a wet concert local halls refused them outright when the beer angle was mentioned arcadians fail to endorse plan composite view of dixie being blown out and enjoyed at past ifc weekends the saturday afternoon concert will be held at dorney park schempf to conduct symphony tonight arcadia voted seven to five to kill a motion that they endorse the rosenberg plan to revise the compo sition of arcadia most of the objections were directed to the point that the men chosen by activity groups are not
