arcadia gives 10 for freshmen skits gregory and strong scl will present gregory and strong noted new york musical duo tonight at 8 in grace hall boris gregory one of the world's top concertina virtuo sos and rod strong a noted young dancer made a smashing hit for themselves last winter at the persian room of new york's plaza hotel they also have made television appear ances strong began dancing when he was 15 and was successful almost from the start he was a featured dancer in two broadway shows are you with it and toplitsky of notre dame after which he went to europe he was lead dancer at the lido in paris and did the choreography for the brussell's follies which were proclaimed the most unusual pres entation of the season from paris strong went to monte carlo on the french ri viera for the past three seasons he has danced at the latin quarter in new york ciro's in hollywood and many leading theaters gregory has played in all the ma or concert halls throughout the united states and has appeared as soloist with the mexico city sym phony the new york philharmonic and the royal philharmonic sym phony in england alone and with various partners gregory has played in numerous supper clubs throughout the coun try he has filled engagements at the biltmore and plaza hotels in new york and the embassy club in london accompanist for the lehigh per formances will be julien stein who will be featured with strong in a blues number and will accom pany the visiting artists in gersh win's liza youmans tea for two and leroy anderson's fid dle-faddle other selections will include a new old cowhand an original composition by gregory hora staccato and krisler's liebes freud will also be presented cavalcade will start at 7 p.m and will reach drinker about 7:30 when the rally will take place muhlenberg and lehigh signed a peace pact for tomorrow's game and a pact with lafayette is now under way lafayette will send its repre sentatives to lehigh on wednesday afternoon at 5 o'clock when the actual signing of the pact will take place steel v p lays corner stone of health center wise-cracks horsing around and ignorance of parliamentary proced ure slowed progress to a halt in wednesday night's arcadia meeting for 40 minutes they debated on an appropriation for the freshmen class card skit idea after having decided to give 10 there was a motion to vote on the previous question no one had originally specifically stated the motion and debate had wandered from the motion so many times that the motion had to be completely composed to fit the previous debate the freshmen are going to super vise and man a 225 card skit for the muhlenberg game the skit will portray a large brown lu on a white background if successful the idea will be expanded buses will be available for the lafayette game for a price of 60 cents per round-trip fraternities can charter an entire bus for the trip of they will contact paul rin genbach at sigma nu this evening there will be a big pep rally that will feature two motor cavalcades through town and the upper campus to get the students to the rally at drinker house across town the 1,375 enrolled in rotc depts the army brown and the air force blue are worn by 1,375 stu dents each monday afternoon ac cording to col earl j berryhill head of the department of air sci ence this is 215 less than the record 1,590 cadets in last year's pro gram the air force roster includes 587 undergraduates and the army has the remaining 788 of these students 37 are candidates for air force re serve commissions and 95 for the reserve commissions in the army upon graduation next june in connection with the meeting of university class agents stewart j cort corporate trustee of lehigh and vice-president of the bethlehem steel corp interfaith convo volume 66 — number 12 dr arnold s nash head of the religion department at the university of north carolina will lead the interfaith council's fifth annual conference jon religion which starts monday and concludes saturday born in england in 1906 dr nash was educated at the university of liverpool r'pon hall oxford and the london school of economics of the university of london he holds graduate degrees in chemistry philosophy and sociology he has lectured at the universities of nebraska michigan lowa cali fornia and south dakota others include princeton university and prince ton theological seminary during his six-day stay at lehigh dr nash will hold seminars on reli frosh to show placard cheers at mule game gion lecture in several classes and lead informal discussions in several living groups he will be available for personal appointments which may be made through the chaplain as in the past the conference will be directed at stimulating religious consciousness of the lehigh undergraduate in bring ing dr nash to the campus the council hopes that his extensive travels and experience in addi tion to his academic back ground will prove beneficial to the student body some of dr nash's topics will be what is man is communism a religion the sociological under standing of religion the begin ning and the end of the world science and the creation of man and the place of liberal arts in a technical education in 1946 dr nash toured europe during 1953-54 he lectured in the universities of india burma the philippines r.nd japan under the sponsorship of the harvard-yench ing foundation he is the author of protestant thought in the 20th century and the university and the modern world in an attempt to bolster school spirit and especially football cheer ing enthusiasm the new freshman cabinet will initiate a unique pro gram at this saturday's game against muhlenberg in taylor sta dium the new idea which is known as placard cheering will be tried for the first time at le high although it is used quite extensively in western colleges consisting of the raising and low ering of colored cards 18 inches square the placard cheering will be observed from across the stadium and it will appear as though there were a design on the lehigh stands actual manipulation of the cards will be accomplished by members of the freshman class in their
