Renee Robins of Lafayette was the first place finisher, while Senior Susan Kotek (York, Pa.) finished a very respectable 17th for the lady harriers. Bucknell won the team crown. Seven plays later Marty Horn (Short Hills, N.J.) found his favorite target, Rennie Benn (Short Hills, N.J.), for a three- yard touchdown. Michael Beat- tie (Danbury Conn.) converted his 22nd straight PAT of the season, and the Brown & White led 7-0. The touchdown pass was the 42nd time that the duo have connected for a score in their four years. The Rams were unable to move the ball against the tough Engineer defense and were forced to punt into a fierce wind. Taking advantage of excellent field position, Lehigh drove deep into West Chester territory. When the offense sputtered on the 15 yard line, Beattie attempted a 32-yard field goal that sailed wide to the right. In the second quarter the Engineers advanced the ball to the Ram 4, but had to settle for Beattie's 22-yard field goal. Led by workhorse Jason Sims, the Rams put together a 52-yard drive that culminated in a 21-yard field goal just 35 seconds before halftime, cutting the Engineer lead to a touchdown. On its first possession of the second half, Lehigh drove 51 yards to paydirt. Freshman Lee Blum (Staten Island, N.Y.) covered the final yard for his sixth rushing touchdown of the year.
